Job summary

Trillium Engineering in Dallas, TX is seeking a Production Planner responsible for developing, coordinating, and monitoring production schedules to ensure on-time delivery and optimized manufacturing operations.

The role collaborates across planning, procurement, engineering, and warehousing, maintains ERP/MRP data, and builds dashboards for leadership, while driving KPIs and continuous improvement.

Qualifications

  • Three years of experience in production planning within a manufacturing environment.
  • Demonstrated experience with multi-level BOM structures and how they influence planning and materials management.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of industry materials, components, and production processes.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage complex project schedules.
  • Experience working with ERP/MRP systems, NetSuite preferred.
  • Experience with Microsoft products (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Project).

Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain detailed production schedules based on demand forecasts, material availability, and production capacity.
  • Interpret and manage multi-level BOMs to ensure accurate planning and material requirements.
  • Identify and resolve production scheduling conflicts, resource constraints, and material shortages.
  • Collaborate with material planning, procurement, production, engineering, warehouse, and configuration management teams to ensure timely availability of materials and accurate system data.
  • Develop and maintain visual management tools and dashboards that communicate plan performance, risks, and recovery actions to senior leadership.
  • Establish, track, and improve planning KPIs such as schedule adherence, plan stability, and capacity utilization.
  • Anticipate potential material bottlenecks and take proactive measures to prevent disruptions in availability.
  • Proactively communicate production status and any production issues to upper management to eliminate customer surprises.
  • Maintain accurate planning parameters in the ERP/MRP system and ensure data integrity for all scheduling and BOM inputs.
  • Provide regular updates and reports to management regarding production status, risks, and opportunities.
  • Support continuous improvement projects targeting increased throughput and reduced downtime.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Purpose of Position

This role is responsible for developing, coordinating, and monitoring production schedules to ensure efficient manufacturing operations and on-time delivery of products. This role balances customer demand, material availability, and manufacturing capacity to support business goals and maintain high service levels.

Summary Of Essential Job Functions

Physical Demands Of Position
  • Physically able to lift up to 20 pounds (materials/equipment)
  • Effective use of computer, laptop, cell phone and other mobile device to exchange information.
