Job summary

Sonoco Products Company in Winchester, KY is hiring a Production Packer to operate and maintain packaging lines safely, ensuring quality and efficiency.

This role requires reading and following procedures, teamwork, and the ability to work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment with a 12-hour rotating night shift (7pm–7:30am) and a $1.00 night differential.

Qualifications

• 2 years of industrial warehouse/manufacturing experience.
• Excels in a team environment and collaborates to achieve goals.
• Fast-paced environment with multitasking capability.
• Steel toe shoes required.
• Ability to read, write and perform math tasks.
• Sense of urgency and responsibility.
• Understanding of manufacturing and quality control.
• Able to work in non-temperature-controlled conditions with heat, humidity and noise.

Responsibilities

• Operate all production equipment safely and maintain quality.
• Set up, operate and maintain equipment to meet production rates.
• Adjust speeds, pressures and temperatures to ensure quality.
• Maintain 5S and housekeeping in the work space.
• Complete quality checks timely and accurately.
• Record production data and material details.
• Report defects to line lead or supervisor.
• Perform other tasks as assigned by management.

Excellent attendance is crucial for the team to achieve success. You will have the ability to work with various teams and have a good eye to spot defects in the packing line.
