Job summary

American Sugar Refining, Inc. is seeking a production worker to pack and palletize sugar, lifting up to 50 lbs, on multiple shifts including weekends. The role emphasizes food safety and quality.

Starting wage is 19.00 per hour, with second and third shift differentials of 1.00 and 1.50 per hour. Benefits include vacation, sick time, bonus program, and health plans. Training and career growth are available.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED preferred but not required.
• Equivalent experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Responsibilities

• Pack finished goods into cases, place finished case onto pallet (must be able to lift 50 lbs).
• Check individual packages for quality issues (back seal, end seals, production date code).
• Maintain cleanliness of production area around assigned production line.
• Open re-work, both daily and returned product when necessary.
• Assist machine operator as needed (changing poly, learn basic operations to stop/start machine).
• Label boxes as necessary.
• Must know the difference between edible and non-edible product.
• Assist in the cleaning of the plant as required.
• Be vigilant for any product contamination and report any contamination or unsafe issues.
• Work effectively and ensure that food safety, authenticity, legality, and quality are maintained.
• Report risks or evidence of unsafe or out-of-spec product, equipment, packaging or raw materials.
• Assist in the plant when needed
• Other duties as assigned
