Job summary

Pures Food Specialties, Inc. in Broadview, IL is hiring for a production associate to support daily manufacturing operations. You will read recipes, operate mixers and scales, and ensure the line runs safely and efficiently.

The role requires attention to safety, ability to work weekends/holidays, and teamwork with multiple departments. Training on GMP, allergen controls, and HACCP will be provided. If you are reliable, physically able to lift up to 50 pounds, and committed to quality food

Qualifications

• Experience operating and maintaining production line machines.
• Ability to read and understand recipes.
• Willing to work flexible schedules including weekends and holidays.
• Basic math skills for measuring ingredients.
• Bilingual is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Follow safety guidelines and food safety policies.
• Read and follow recipes and batch records.
• Maintain and operate production equipment, ensuring the line runs efficiently.
• Handle and measure ingredients using digital scales.
• Follow FIFO and document batch information accurately.
• Keep work area clean and organized; participate in changeovers.
• Report food safety or quality issues immediately.
• Support other departments and shifts as needed.

ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Ability to work in a safe manner, follow safety guidelines.
• Understand and follow Food Safety policies.
• Must be willing to work flexible schedules and work in other departments including weekends and holidays
• Ability to read and understand recipes.
• Ability to troubleshoot process related issues within the boundaries of the recipe
• Ability to use digital scales and have a working knowledge of scale functions.
• Ability to mix doughs according to recipe. Have a working knowledge of the mixer, using the timer and batch recipe system
• Follow FIFO (First in First Out), Mix lot number and documentation accuracy.
• Clean & Refill ingredient bins and label the bins with the correct lot number.
• Ability to work in a standing position for entire shift and climb steps and ladders.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds repeatedly.
• Monitors and assists with equipment upstream/downstream to ensure continuous operation.
• Ability to clean mixers, work areas properly during and after production runs or changeovers.
• Maintain a clean, organized and safe work area.
• Observe all plant safety, GMP and allergen procedures and attend appropriate training sessions.
• Responsible for manufacturing, distributing and consistently maintaining safe and quality food by following good manufacturing practices, allergen controls, food defense, HACCP and SQF requirements.
• Responsible for immediately reporting all food safety and quality issues to your supervisor.
• Follow supervisor’s directives and be able to support the shift team as needed.
