Job summary

H.B. Fuller, Michigan Center, MI, is seeking a Small Machine Operator for the 3rd shift, with availability for all shifts.

Starting pay is $19.45 per hour plus $0.75 shift differential, plus a three-year pay progression increasing by $1.00, then $2.00, then $2.00 per year. The Production Operator will perform entry-level manufacturing tasks under supervision, focusing on safety, quality, productivity, and housekeeping while learning our standards and procedures.

Qualifications

• High school diploma, GED, or equivalent education.
• No previous manufacturing experience required.
• Basic computer skills, including familiarity with Microsoft Office programs.
• Ability to read, understand, and follow work orders, production procedures, safety requirements, quality procedures, and written instructions.
• Ability to accurately follow established processes and procedures.
• Ability and willingness to work assigned shifts, including overtime and weekends as required.
• Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
• One year of experience in a manufacturing, production, industrial, or similar work environment.
• Basic English communication and comprehension skills.

Responsibilities

• Prepare raw materials and packaging by identifying and staging the correct materials and quantities for production.
• Transport raw materials and packaging to the appropriate production areas and report any deviations or discrepancies.
• Accurately document the start and completion of production processes as required.
• Operate processing and production equipment in accordance with established work instructions, procedures, and safety requirements.
• Monitor equipment and production processes to maintain desired operating and production rates.
• Perform initial product testing and release activities to ensure products meet established specifications and quality requirements.
• Verify labels and packaging materials for accuracy and ensure products are labeled in accordance with established procedures.
• Package finished products according to work instructions and H.B. Fuller quality standards.
• Follow all applicable H.B. Fuller Quality Standards, Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), and Environmental, Health and Safety (EHS) requirements.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area through established housekeeping practices.
• Identify and report production, equipment, safety, or quality concerns to the appropriate supervisor.
• Perform other duties as assigned by the Production Manager or Supervisor.
