Nucor is seeking a plant operator in Kansas City to support safe, efficient metal recycling operations. You will monitor equipment, perform inspections, and coordinate with QA to ensure quality products.

The role requires the ability to work in an industrial setting, operate at times under overtime conditions, and communicate effectively with teammates. A bilingual English/Spanish preference is noted.

Qualifications

• Experience in an industrial/outdoor work environment.
• Demonstrated ability to work safely at all times and with a safe sense of urgency.
• Ability to operate equipment under varying work conditions.
• Ability to work with others in a team environment.
• Meet attendance schedule with dependability and consistency.
• Work flexible hours including overtime and weekends as needed.

Responsibilities

• Follow safety procedures and OSHA guidelines at all times.
• Monitor, clean, and inspect plant production equipment.
• Perform regular walkthroughs to check for clogs, jams, and issues.
• Inspect product streams to maximize quality and minimize losses.
• Coordinate with QA to ensure quality standards are met.
• Operate forklifts and skid loaders as required.
• Communicate issues to supervisor promptly.
• Keep work area clean, organized, and safe.
