Qualifications

• Experience using front-end loader, excavator or scrap handler in industrial/outdoor settings.
• At least 2 years of heavy-equipment operating knowledge.
• Ability to understand and follow written and oral instructions; dependable attendance.

Responsibilities

• Operate crane for unloading tractor trailers, and feeding material to the feed crane.
• Operate heavy equipment of various sizes including cranes, loaders, etc.
• Unload scrap material, push shred piles, move material throughout the yard, and load trucks.
• Perform daily inspections on equipment and report defects or needed repairs.
• Keep grounds clear of debris while maintaining safety standards.
• Operate forklift or skid steer if needed.
• General labor duties including sweeping, shoveling, and cleanup across yard.
• Communicate over radio with teammates for traffic coordination, production, and safety procedures.
• Willing to cross-train in other positions and assist other employees as needed.

Basic Job Functions

Minimum Qualifications

• Experience using front-end loader, excavator or scrap handler in an Industrial/Outdoor Work Environment.
• 2 years knowledge of heavy-equipment operating principles
• Ability to operate equipment under varying working conditions.
• Ability to understand and carry out written and oral instructions
• Ability to meet attendance schedule with dependability and consistency
• Must be a willing to be a team player
• Working knowledge of hazards and safety precautions common to heavy equipment operations.
• Schedule: Mon-Fri 6pm-6am, with possibility of overtime and Saturday hours, based on business needs.

Preferred Qualifications

• Flexible to work overtime, off-hours, weekends, and holidays in an industrial environment which includes being outdoors in all weather conditions
• Mechanical background/knowledge is a plus.
