Job summary

Atkore International in Hobart, Indiana, is seeking a Production Laborer to operate, tend, shut down and clean production equipment under supervision.

You will read work orders, document production data, inspect gauges, manage material handling, and support maintenance. A high school diploma and 1 year of equipment experience are required; forklift experience is a plus.

This role requires standing for long periods, lifting up to 60 lbs, and occasional forklift use as needed.

Qualifications

• 1 year of industrial equipment operation experience or equivalent training.
• Previous forklift experience is a plus.
• High School Diploma, GED, or Equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Safely operate production equipment within engineered Takt Times.
• Read and execute production work orders.
• Fill out documentation for production, downtime, and QA reports.
• Check to make sure all machine guards are operative and in place.
• Check raw material to ensure proper size, gauge, length, and finish.
• Load and unload materials from machines.
• Read and interpret gauges.
• Monitor quality and dimensional specifications of parts being produced.
• Ability to lift and manipulate up to 60lbs.
• Standing and walking up to 12 hours per day.
• Drive forklift when necessary.
• Communicate safety, production, or any other problems to the shift supervisor.
• Clean production area - Sweep, mop, and remove debris.
