Job summary

Novonesis in West Allis, WI is seeking an Operator in Packaging to join our night shift team. This role operates packaging equipment under supervision, assembling, adjusting, sanitizing, labeling, and ensuring products meet quality standards according to procedures.

You will prepare bags and labels, verify lot numbers, handle materials, and assist in Kaizen/Lean improvements. Strong English, basic math, and ERP/SAP familiarity are valued.

Qualifications

  • Ability to read, write and speak English.
  • Ability to apply basic mathematical concepts to the production process including conversion of weight and volume in the metric system.
  • Ability to read and follow a production journal to packaging finished goods.
  • ERP system knowledge (SAP) preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Operate packaging equipment to meet quality standards and procedures.
  • Assemble, adjust, clean and sanitize equipment for packaging.
  • Prepare bags and labels for product fills per work instructions.
  • Verify lots and batch numbers and dump materials into blender/hopper.
  • Stack bags/boxes onto trolley for freezer storage; deliver or move raw materials and finished products to/from -55°C freezer.
  • Assist others in trained areas as required; participate in Lean/continuous improvement activities.
  • Take samples for QC testing and complete required paperwork or data entry for production/inventory records.

The areas are defined as sanitizing, blending, boxing, warehouse/freezer, and bagging.In this role you'll make an impact by:Setting up (assembles and disassembles), operating, adjusting, cleaning and sanitizing equipment to package products within quality standards and according to procedures.Assisting others in the areas trained as required by production demands or by direction of the Supervisor.Preparing bags and labels for product fills according to work instructions.Verifying lots and batch numbers and dumps materials into blender/hopper.Stacking bags and boxes onto trolley for storage into the freezer.Delivering or picking up raw materials or finished product into and out of -55°C freezer.Troubleshooting and/or identifies equipment failures or problems.Completing necessary paperwork and/or data entry for production and/or inventory records.Participating in continuous improvement activities using Lean concepts and principles.Taking necessary samples for QC testing as needed.Adhering to all GMP, including sanitary requirements, Safety, ISO and Standardized Work procedures.Adhering to guidelines as set forth by religious dietary law certifications (Kosher and Halal).To succeed you must hold:Ability to read, write and speak English.Ability to apply basic mathematical concepts to the production process including conversion of weight and volume in the metric system.Ability to read and follow a production journal to packaging finished goods.Ability to operate a pallet walker and/or forklift, preferred.Ability to use basic hand tools (hammer, screwdriver, wrench) for assembly and disassembly of equipment.Ability to communicate effectively with co-workers regarding the status of the production process.Basic computer skills.
