Job summary

Novonesis in Wisconsin seeks an Operator in Fermentation to operate, adjust, sanitize, and monitor equipment for high-quality microbial products. You will help maintain process consistency, uphold GMP standards, and support a safe, compliant manufacturing environment.

Responsibilities include preparing and running fermentation, handling materials in -55°C freezers, sampling for QC, documenting production and inventory, and collaborating with teammates on continuous improvement and lean

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED required or equivalent.
  • Basic math and ability to read production docs.
  • Experience in regulated manufacturing preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare, operate, adjust, clean, and sanitize fermentation and processing equipment.
  • Mix raw materials, oversee fermentation runs, and complete downstream separation and bulk packaging.
  • Handle materials, including transport to/from -55°C freezers and verify lot/batch numbers.
  • Collect and submit samples for Quality Control testing.
  • Follow GMP, ISO safety, and sanitary standards; support kosher/halal compliance.
  • Document production, inventory, and quality data accurately.

Working closely with your teammates, you’ll help troubleshoot equipment and process issues, support cross-training efforts, and contribute to a culture of continuous improvement. Your work plays an important role in delivering high-quality microbial products that help advance Novonesis’ purpose of creating biological solutions for a better future.The role & your impactAs an Operator in Fermentation, you’ll play a central role in operating, adjusting, sanitizing, and monitoring specialized equipment used to produce high-quality microbial products. Your work ensures process consistency, compliance with GMP standards, and seamless production flow.
