Job summary

Novonesis in Madison, WI seeks a Quality Control Lab Technician – Human Health. You will perform in-house QC tests, calibrate lab equipment, and ensure GMP compliance while contributing to product safety and quality in a dietary supplement manufacturing setting.

Join a team focused on continuous improvement, lean methods, and accurate data recording in SAP and LIMS. Training provided; position moves to West Allis in 2027 with a 7:00 a.m.–3:30 p.m. schedule.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in a scientific field or a minimum of three years of laboratory experience.
  • Ability to read, understand, and follow SOPs and work instructions.
  • Strong communication and teamwork across cross-functional partners.
  • Familiarity with GMP/FDA guidelines and regulatory standards.

Responsibilities

  • Perform in-house quality control testing on samples per SOPs and regulatory standards.
  • Conduct equipment calibrations and verifications (scales, pH meters) to ensure accuracy.
  • Record testing results in SAP and LIMS and communicate nonconformances.
  • Support Kaizen/Lean/5S and training of new team members as needed.

If you enjoy hands-on laboratory work and being part of a team that values continuous improvement, this role offers a meaningful opportunity to make an impact.The Role & Your ImpactAs a Quality Control Lab Technician – Human Health, you will support quality control processes in a GMP-compliant dietary supplement manufacturing facility. Your work will directly contribute to product quality, food safety, and on-time production while supporting regulatory compliance and internal standards.In this role, you will:Perform in-house quality control testing on samples according to written SOPs, work instructions, and regulatory standards.Conduct routine equipment calibrations and verifications (such as scales and pH meters) to ensure accurate testing results.Follow and promote food safety and GMP requirements in alignment with FDA guidelines and internal certification standards.Use aseptic techniques to maintain sterility of media, equipment, and laboratory workspaces.Accurately record testing results, evaluations, and training in systems such as SAP and LIMS.Communicate testing nonconformances and observations to QC, QA, PMG, and Production teams.Participate in internal safety and continuous improvement initiatives, including Kaizen, Lean, and 5S.Support training and onboarding of new team members in areas of demonstrated proficiency.What You’ll Need to Be SuccessfulTo succeed in this role, you bring a strong attention to detail, a commitment to safety and quality, and the ability to follow structured processes in a regulated environment.You must have:The ability to read, understand, and follow SOPs, work instructions, and equipment manuals.Strong communication skills to collaborate with team members, cross-functional partners, and auditors.Basic math skills and the ability to interpret numerical data, including metric measurements and temperatures in Celsius.Critical thinking and problem-solving skills to adapt in a dynamic production environment.Experience operating laboratory and office equipment and performing basic dilution series.The ability to accurately interpret testing results and take appropriate action in accordance with SOPs.A working knowledge of Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs) and compliance standards.Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).A Bachelor’s degree in a scientific field or a minimum of three years of full-time experience in a laboratory environment.Additional Skills & Interests We ValueWhile not required, the following are considered a plus:Experience working in a GMP-regulated food, dietary supplement, or pharmaceutical environment.Familiarity with SAP, LIMS, or similar laboratory information systems.Interest in continuous improvement methodologies such as Lean, Kaizen, or 5S.A collaborative mindset and willingness to support teammates across functions.What We OfferAt Novonesis, you will be part of a collaborative team that values safety, quality, and continuous improvement.
