Job Description

A Production Operator at PolyJoule plays a hands-on role in building and scaling our advanced battery manufacturing operations. You will be working directly with equipment, materials, and digital production systems to reliably produce high-quality electrodes and finished battery assemblies. You’ll be part of a small, innovative team that tackles new manufacturing challenges every day, helping to refine and improve our processes as we scale up production. This position reports to the Process Scale-Up Engineer.

Key Responsibilities

  • Mix and handle solid powder compounds, following written instructions and procedures.
  • Operate mixers, ovens, coating systems, pressurized equipment, and pneumatic tools after training.
  • Safely lift, move, and position heavy materials, tools, and equipment.
  • Wear and use required PPE (gloves, goggles, respirator/mask, coveralls, etc.) for each task.
  • Keep the working areas clean, organized, and free of unnecessary materials.
  • Clean tanks, tubes, pumps, and related equipment between or after production runs.
  • Perform general area cleaning, including floors, benches, and tools.
  • Transfer labeled drums/containers of solid and liquid waste to the designated storage area.
  • Use basic hand and power tools (e.g., drills, saws) for production or simple maintenance tasks.
  • Follow all company safety, quality, and production procedures at all times.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Experience in industrial production, powder handling, mixing, or coatings is a plus (training provided).
  • Able to lift and move heavy items safely and repeatedly.
  • Comfortable wearing PPE for extended periods.
  • Able to perform repetitive tasks and stay focused during production runs.
  • Ability to lift, move, and handle heavy items safely.
  • Comfortably wearing PPE for extended periods of time.
  • Comfortable working with pressurized equipment and systems (after training), such as air pressure or vacuum systems.
