Job summary

Airgas in Hutchinson, KS is seeking a Production Operator 1 to safely operate and monitor production equipment for filling industrial gases and related products. You will execute orders, document activities, and maintain product quality on a rotating shift schedule.

The role requires a high school diploma or GED and the ability to lift 50 pounds, stand long hours, and work nights, weekends, and holidays. Training will cover safety, 5S, and environmental standards, with a path toward skill

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• 0-2 years of experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment, preferably in a production operator role.
• Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds regularly and stand for extended periods.
• Must be able to work rotating shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays.

Responsibilities

• Operate and monitor production equipment, including compressors, pumps, distillation columns, and filling systems, according to established procedures.
• Perform routine checks, inspections, and preventative maintenance on equipment to ensure optimal performance and identify potential issues.
• Execute production orders, follow batch records, and accurately document all production activities and data.
• Monitor process parameters, interpret gauges and controls, and make adjustments as necessary to maintain product specifications.
• Load and unload raw materials, cylinders, and finished products, utilizing forklifts or other material handling equipment safely.
• Conduct quality control checks and sample products to ensure adherence to established standards.
• Troubleshoot minor equipment malfunctions and report major issues to maintenance or supervision.
• Maintain a clean and organized work area, adhering to 5S principles.
• Comply with all company safety policies, procedures, and environmental regulations.
• Participate in safety meetings and continuous improvement initiatives.
