Job summary

Avet Pharmaceuticals Inc. is seeking an entry-level Production Operator I for our manufacturing department. You will execute manufacturing procedures on various equipment, adhere to cGMP standards, and uphold EH&S guidelines to support elevated compliance and quality.

Reporting to the supervising team, this role involves basic operations, documentation in batch records, and potential training duties after one year of experience. Strong teamwork and English communication are essential.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Minimum of 1 year of manufacturing experience in pharma, compression experience preferred.
  • Must follow SOPs, GMP guidelines and safety procedures.

Responsibilities

  • Operate assigned manufacturing equipment following batch records.
  • Move materials to be ready for manufacturing and verify setup.
  • Document activities in batch records and GMP documents.
  • Perform basic mechanical tasks and troubleshoot simple malfunctions.
  • Support changeovers and maintain a clean, safe workspace.
  • Report deviations and participate in process improvements.

Job description

The Production Operator I is an entry-level role within our manufacturing department. Key responsibilities include executing manufacturing procedures and tasks on various manufacturing equipment. This position entails strict adherence to company Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), compliance with cGMP guidelines, and commitment to upholding environmental, health, and safety standards. The Production Operator I plays a role in maintaining elevated compliance and quality standards throughout operations.

Reporting Relationships
  • This position has no direct reports.
  • This position works under constant supervision for the first 12 months.
Essential Functions and Detailed Duties
  • Must be able to complete the following manufacturing tasks:
  • Operate assigned manufacturing equipment, including shutdown/start-up of the machines following the established procedures.
  • Be able to move around and place the required material for manufacturing so that it is ready to be utilized.
  • Ensure that all manufacturing components being used match the manufacturing set-up requirements.
  • Perform one or more of the following manufacturing functions following the batch record instructions: coating, compression, encapsulation, granulation/blending, soft gel.
  • Complete equipment cleaning according to machine requirements and SOP.
  • Executes total changeovers as needed.
  • Perform basic mechanical functions including light troubleshooting, correcting simple machine malfunctions, and identifying routinary problems.
  • Maintain a clean and sanitary workplace.
  • Offer suggestions to superiors and follow up on process improvements related to safety, compliance, cost, and productivity.
  • Properly document activities in batch records, forms and other GMP documents.
  • Identify and report both machine or manual deviations to the supervisor or designee.
  • After 1 year of experience and consistently satisfactory performance, can train new Level Operators without experience.
  • Follow all Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and guidelines. Must report unsafe conditions, near misses, and/or injuries in a timely manner.
  • Follow applicable safety guidelines while operating the manufacturing equipment.
  • Be able to perform other duties as assigned.
Specialized Skills and Knowledge
  • Basic mathematical skills.
  • Basic mechanical abilities.
  • Basic computer skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English
  • Must complete departmental SOP, GMP, and any required Qualifications.
  • Ability to work in a team.
Experience and Education
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Minimum of 1 year of previous manufacturing experience in the pharmaceutical industry, Compression experience preferred.
Physical Demands/Factors

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand. The employee is frequently required to walk; sit; use hands; talk; and hear. The employee is occasionally required to reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; stoop; kneel; crouch. The employee must occasionally lift and or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, and color vision.

Compensation and Benefits

This is a non-exempt position that pays $22.30 per hour.

This pay represents the base hourly rate. In addition, this position is eligible for an annual bonus which aligns to both individual and company performance.
