Production Operator I - 12-Hour Shifts, Quality & Safety

Job summary

TekniPlex in Tennessee is seeking a Manufacturing Associate responsible for assisting production, handling order processing, setup and packaging duties; performing quality checks, operating basic process equipment, and maintaining logs and tags. Candidates must read safety rules and instructions, follow HACCP/ SQF guidelines, and be able to lift up to 50 pounds.

Shifts are 12 hours in a 2-2-3 rotation from 5:45am to 6:00pm.

Qualifications

• Previous experience in manufacturing is a plus.
• Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
• Ability to add and subtract up to three digit numbers and to multiply and divide with 10's and 100's.
• Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.

Responsibilities

• Assists Production Tech with order processing, changes and set-up.
• Bags, boxes or palletizes finished product.
• Performs quality inspections and tests.
• Positions sheet rolls on unwind stand and starts sheet into formers and through the trim press.
• Assists in the production and operation of manufacturing process equipment.
• Prepares production logs, product tags and time cards as necessary.
• Operates scrap grinder as required and understands recycle system.
• Follows and participates in plant safe housekeeping guidelines designed to ensure a safe work environment.
• Remains compliant with SQF / BRC / HACCP requirements as per this location’s written “Food Safety & Quality Policy”.
• Other duties as assigned.
• Must be able to work 12 hour shifts, on a 2.2.3 rotation, 545am-6pm.

Education

Previous experience in manufacturing a plus.
