Job summary

NewMarket Corporation in Utah is seeking a full-time plant operator to run chemical process equipment, including pumps, dryers, filtration, reactors and crystallizers. You will handle blending, packing and shipping while maintaining strict safety and environmental standards.

The role requires a high school diploma or GED and willingness to obtain required certifications (Hazardous Materials Operations, Fire Brigade, First Responder, confined space entry) with company sponsorship.

Qualifications

• HS diploma or GED is required.
• Prior experience working with and around chemicals is preferred.
• Must become certified in Hazardous Material Operations, Fire Brigade, First Responder, and confined space entry rescue training (sponsored by the company).

Job description

Operation of all chemical process equipment.

Including, but not limited to: Operating pumps for chemical flow process. Operating dryers. Operating filtration equipment for chemical process. Operate chemical reactors and crystallizers. Operating industrial process equipment, blending, packing and shipping materials. Operating material handling equipment - forklift, conveyor etc.

Inventory, collect and analyze data.

Participate on the Company’s emergency response team.

Adheres to the safety, environmental & Quality programs of the Company.

Starting Wage

$29.80/HR

Wage increases at 3,6,12,18 & 24 month time periods based on performance.

Schedule:

Working 12 hour shifts 7 to 7, rotating between days and nights monthly. Shift is 2-on 2-off 3-on 2-off. This shift gives you every other weekend off.

Experience / Skills Required:

High school diploma or G.E.D required.

Prior experience working with and around chemicals preferred.

Will be required to become certified in Hazardous Material Operations, Fire Brigade, First Responder, and confined space entry rescue training, sponsored by the company.

Must be able to meet the Essential Physical Functions for the position (Including lifting 75 pounds)
