Job summary

CMC, a Fortune 500® company, seeks a dedicated manufacturing/industrial worker to support construction reinforcement processes. You may work in an office setting or on site, operating equipment and loading materials, with strong emphasis on safety and teamwork.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • Experience in heavy industrial environment preferred.
  • Ability to lift 50 pounds and work outside in all weather.
  • Must follow OSHA, EPA, and company safety policies.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork.

Responsibilities

  • Attend training regarding applicable equipment.
  • Operate rebar fabrication equipment, such as shears, benders, cranes, forklift, threaders, forging, etc.
  • Assist in loading fabricated rebar on trailers and unloading stock material.
  • Maintain work area and equipment in a clean and orderly condition.
  • Crosstrain on multiple machines.
  • Participate in CMC Safety Programs and uphold the CMC Safety Culture.
  • Perform additional duties as needed.

What You'll Do
  • Attend training regarding applicable equipment
  • Perform additional duties as needed
  • Assist in loading fabricated rebar on trailers and unloading stock material from trailers
  • Maintain work area and equipment in a clean and orderly condition
  • Attend required training on all relevant equipment and operate production machines in accordance with established procedures and guidelines
  • Participate in the CMC Safety Programs and proactively uphold the CMC Safety Culture
  • Crosstrain on multiple machines
  • Operate rebar fabrication equipment, such as shears, benders, cranes, forklift, threaders, forging, etc.
  • Ability to efficiently set-up, operate, monitor and adjust shop equipment to ensure a conforming product This can include the furnaces, straighteners, saws and shot blast
What You'll Need
  • Must be able to work outside under all weather conditions to include working in the heat and cold weather
  • Able and willing to cross train as required
  • Ability to work in a safety conscious industrial environment including use of PPE (Personal Protective Equipment)
  • Follow OSHA, EPA, and company safety policies, rules, and regulations
  • Ability to work as a team player in a fast paced environment, with strong work ethic, pay attention to detail and find root causes for issues
  • Ability to operate fabrication machines in a safe manner without supervision
  • Must be able to lift 50 pounds, climb ladders and steps, work outside under all weather conditions when needed
  • Possess knowledge of commonly used concepts, practices, and procedures in the industrial field
  • Excellent communication skills, in both written and verbal form are necessary to be successful in this role
  • Minimum 1 year working with heavy industrial environment experience preferred but not required
  • Must be able to stand for long periods of time, stretch, bend and use hands and fingers in repetitive motions
  • Must possess work ethic and ability to be punctual
