Job summary

CMC is seeking a hands-on production/operator to work in our steel reinforcement manufacturing environment in San Bernardino. The role involves operating fabrication machines, loading/unloading materials, and maintaining a clean, safe workspace across 1st and 2nd shifts.

You will train on applicable equipment, perform duties as needed, and cross-train on multiple machines while adhering to OSHA/EPA policies and safety regulations. Overtime and occasional weekend work are common in this role.

Qualifications

• Excellent communication skills are required to work in a fast-paced, team-focused environment.
• Ability to read and interpret technical documents and service manuals.
• Willingness to cross-train and operate various fabrication machines safely.
• Must be able to work overtime and on weekends as needed.
• Stand for long periods and lift up to 50 pounds.
• Strong work ethic and punctuality are essential.

What You'll Do

• Operate rebar fabrication equipment, such as shears, benders, cranes, forklift, threaders, forging, welders, etc.

What You'll Need

• Minimum 1 year working with heavy industrial environment experience preferred but not required
• Must be able to lift 50 pounds, climb ladders and steps, work outside under all weather conditions when needed
• Must be able to work outside under all weather conditions to include working in the heat and cold weather
• Able and willing to cross train as required
• Follow OSHA, EPA, and company safety policies, rules, and regulations
• Possess a strong work ethic and practice safe working habits
• Ability to work as a team player in a fast paced environment, with strong work ethic, pay attention to detail and find root causes for issues
• Ability to operate fabrication machines in a safe manner without supervision
• Able to work overtime as business requires
• Must be able to read technical documents and service manuals
• Possess knowledge of commonly used concepts, practices, and procedures in the industrial field
• Excellent communication skills, in both written and verbal form are necessary to be successful in this role
• Must be able to work overtime, either planned or unplanned for emergency situations
• Must possess work ethic and ability to be punctual
• Stand for long periods of time

Your Education

• High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent experience preferred
