Job summary

Sun Chemical, a member of the DIC Group, is seeking a Production Operator - C for the North Charleston, SC site. This role involves operating packaging equipment, performing routine maintenance, data entry and quality testing per SOPs, and ensuring a safe, efficient work area.

You will work 12-hour rotating shifts and contribute to continuous improvement within the Operations Team. HS diploma or GED preferred, with 1–3 years in manufacturing.

POSITION SUMMARY/OBJECTIVE:

The Production Operator - C supports the North Charleston, SC site. The position is responsible for operating equipment associated with the packaging and shipment of finished goods and safely performing associated routine maintenance, data analysis/entry, and quality testing in accordance with operating procedures. We are seeking a highly motivated, self-driven individual with a continuous improvement mindset to join our Operations Team.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

• Work effectively in a team environment.
• Work 12 hours rotating shifts.
• Understand and follow standardized work instructions.
• Operate all equipment in a safe and efficient manner.
• Blend and pack out material.
• Complete routine paperwork.
• Perform routine/incidental maintenance and inspections.
• Maintain a safe and clean work area.
• Stage product to be dried and move dry material for further processing.
• Ensure proper identification and traceability; complete required paperwork.
• Monitor product quality by visual inspection of the product and taking required samples and testing as necessary.
• Perform mechanical and pre-startup inspections.
• Able to lift, push, and pull 50 pounds.
• Operate Power Industrial Trucks in a safe manner.
• Comply with all company /department safety rules and procedures.

REQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

• High School Diploma or GED preferred, or pass a pre-employment screening assessment
• 1 – 3 years’ experience in a production/manufacturing environment
