Job summary

Sherwin-Williams in Brooklyn Park, MN is seeking a Production Operator - Blender for a part-time role. You will support pre-batch blending, staging of products, and assist Blenders with spray-outs, drawdowns, and filling customer orders.

Location: 10695 Winnetka Ave, Brooklyn Park, MN 55445. Schedule is 4 days weekly, 10:00am–4:30pm. Compensation ranges from $18.00 to $23.10 hourly, with safety and quality standards guiding daily operations.

Qualifications

  • Must be at least eighteen (18) years of age.
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the country of employment without needing sponsorship for employment work visa status now or in the future.
  • Must be able to read, write, comprehend and communicate in English.
  • Must be able, with or without reasonable accommodation, to lift up to 50 lbs. frequently and up to 100 lbs. on occasion.
  • Prefer at least 1 year of experience mixing or blending raw materials in an industrial batch process.
  • Prefer at least 1 year of experience using material handling equipment (forklifts, pallet jacks, hand trucks, etc.).
  • Prefer at least 1 year of experience monitoring gauges, dials, or machinery indicators.
  • Prefer at least 1 year of experience monitoring quality of raw materials and/or finished goods.
  • Prefer at least 1 year of experience operating machinery in a manufacturing/distribution environment.
  • Prefer at least 1 year of experience working in a manufacturing/distribution facility.
  • Prefer prior experience operating tinting or color matching equipment.

Responsibilities

  • Gather and prepare necessary materials and tools for blending.
  • Blend custom paint orders and make blends of paint as directed.
  • Match colors within facility color guidelines.
  • Operate tinting, mixing, and industrial material handling equipment in an efficient and safe manner.
  • Keep tools, equipment, and work environment clean and organized daily.
  • Communicate and cooperate with supervisors and coworkers.
  • Ensure compliance with policies and procedures including safety, loss prevention, and security.
  • Follow quality service standards and comply with procedures, rules and regulations.

Job Description

The Production Operator - Blender is responsible for the pre-batch of paint blends and the staging of products for blended orders. This role will support the facility Blenders in spray-outs, drawdowns, and filling customer orders.

  • Location: 10695 Winnetka Avenue, Brooklyn Park, MN 55445
  • Schedule: Part-time, 4 days weekly, 10:00am - 4:30pm (seasonal not available)
  • Compensation: $18.00 - $23.10 hourly

Job duties include contact with other employees, operating heavy machinery, and access to proprietary information, raw materials, finished merchandise, and/or other items of value, and such access may be supervised or unsupervised. Qualifications
Minimum Requirements

  • Must be able to read, write, comprehend and communicate in English
  • Must be able, with or without reasonable accommodation, to retrieve material from shelves and floor stacks and lift and carry up to 50 lbs. frequently and up to 100 lbs. on occasion
Preferred Qualifications
  • Have at least one (1) year of work experience mixing or blending raw materials and making a product in an industrial batch process
  • Have at least one (1) year of work experience using material handling equipment (for example: forklifts (stand and sit), pallet jacks, hand trucks, order pickers, vacu-hoists, drum dollies, conveyor belts, etc.)
  • Have at least one (1) year of work experience monitoring gauges, dials, or other machinery indicators to ensure proper operation of machinery
  • Have at least one (1) year of work experience monitoring the quality of raw materials and/or finished goods
  • Have at least one (1) year of work experience operating machinery in a manufacturing and/or distribution environment
  • Have at least one (1) year of experience working in a manufacturing and/or distribution facility
  • Have prior work experience operating tinting or color matching equipment
