Job summary

Sherwin-Williams is hiring a Production Operator - Batcher in San Leandro, CA to pre-batch paint blends and stage products for blended orders. This role supports the facility blenders in spray-outs, drawdowns, and filling customer orders.

Key duties include gathering materials, blending custom orders, color matching, and operating tinting and mixing equipment safely. Maintain a clean, organized work area while following safety and quality procedures and working with supervisors and teammates.

Qualifications

  • Must be at least eighteen (18) years of age.

  • Must be able to read, write, comprehend and communicate in English.
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs. frequently and up to 100 lbs. on occasion.

Job Description

The Production Operator - Batcher is responsible for the pre-batch of paint blends and the staging of products for blended orders. This role will support the facility Blenders in spray-outs, drawdowns, and filling customer orders.

  • Schedule: Full-time, Monday - Friday, 7:00am - 3:30pm (seasonal not available)
  • Compensation: $19.50 - $24.75 hourly
  • Location: 1033 Montague Street, San Leandro, CA 94577

Responsibilities
  • Gather and prepare necessary materials and tools for blending
  • Blend custom paint orders and make blends of paint as directed
  • Match colors within facility color guidelines
  • Operate tinting, mixing, and industrial material handling equipment in an efficient and safe manner
  • Keep tools, equipment, and work environment clean and organized daily
  • Communicate and cooperate with supervisors and coworkers
  • Ensure compliance with policies and procedures including safety, loss prevention, and security
  • Follow quality service standards and comply with procedures, rules and regulations
Minimum Requirements
  • Must be at least eighteen (18) years of age
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the country of employment without needing sponsorship for employment work visa status now or in the future
  • Must be able to read, write, comprehend and communicate in English
  • Must be able, with or without reasonable accommodation, to retrieve material from shelves and floor stacks and lift and carry up to 50 lbs. frequently and up to 100 lbs. on occasion
Preferred Qualifications
  • Have at least one (1) year of work experience mixing or blending raw materials and making a product in an industrial batch process
  • Have at least one (1) year of work experience using material handling equipment (for example: forklifts (stand and sit), pallet jacks, hand trucks, order pickers, vacu-hoists, drum dollies, conveyor belts, etc.)
  • Have at least one (1) year of work experience monitoring gauges, dials, or other machinery indicators to ensure proper operation of machinery
  • Have at least one (1) year of work experience monitoring the quality of raw materials and/or finished goods
  • Have at least one (1) year of work experience operating machinery in a manufacturing and/or distribution environment
  • Have at least one (1) year experience working in a manufacturing and/or distribution facility
  • Have prior work experience operating tinting or color matching equipment
