AZEK Company is hiring for a Production Operator Assistant in Ohio. Shift runs from 6:45 AM to 7:00 PM, with a pay rate of $19 per hour in a large, 24/7 manufacturing environment.

The role supports the extrusion operator and ensures product quality per specifications. Ideal candidates will have a High School diploma or GED, and some manufacturing exposure, with the ability to read and follow instructions, lift up to 100 lbs, and remain flexible for a fast-paced work culture.

Qualifications

  • High School or GED required.
  • 1+ years of manufacturing experience preferred, however no prior experience is necessary.
  • Ability to read, write, and understand English.
  • Ability to follow written and verbal instructions; read gauges and use measuring devices.
  • Physically able to push/pull/lift 10–100 lbs.
  • Able to stand for the full shift in a hot production environment.
  • Self-directed and able to multi-task in a fast-paced, 24/7 manufacturing environment.
  • Flexible work schedule with advance notice.

Responsibilities

  • Contribute to accident-free operations and comply with health, safety, environmental, and quality requirements.
  • Assist extrusion operator to produce quality products and complete operator reports with accuracy.
  • Monitor and document quality checks to ensure product standards are met prior to packaging.
  • Handle pallets, packaging, and labeling per process instructions and specs.
  • Communicate daily issues to team and supervisors as needed.
  • Assist extrusion operator with machine cleaning functions as required in the Rail Plant.
  • Follow all company policies and procedures; maintain area housekeeping.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by management.

Pay Rate: $19 per hour

The Production Assistant is responsible for properly performing activities relative to assisting the extrusion operator in efficiently operating the extrusion equipment and producing quality products within a large, 24/7 manufacturing environment. Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Contribute to accident-free operations and compliance to all health, safety, environmental, and quality requirements and regulations.
  • Assist the department in producing a quality product based upon product specifications; complete production operator reports with high attention to detail.
  • Monitor, complete, and document quality checks to assure quality of the products (color, surface, size, etc.) meets product standards prior to packaging, as required.
  • Perform placement of pallets, proper packaging techniques, and attach labels for finished material according to process instructions and product specifications.
  • Communicate daily issues and pertinent information to production assistants, assistant operators, operators and team leaders as needed.
  • In the Rail Plant, may assist extrusion operator with all machine cleaning functions including saws, tanks, etc. as needed.
  • Understand and follow all company policies, practices, and procedures.
  • Perform housekeeping duties in the production area.
  • Perform additional duties as needed and/or assigned by management.

Qualifications, Education and Experience:

  • High School or GED required
  • 1+ years of manufacturing experience, preferred; however, no prior experience is necessary.
  • Ability to read, write, and understand the English language. Basic mathematical proficiency in the addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division of whole numbers and fractions.
  • Ability to follow written and verbal instructions, read gauges and use similar measuring devices.
  • Ability to perform the physical demands of the job including: Push / Pull / Lift / Manipulate 10lbs – 100lbs.
  • Ability to stand for complete shift; kneeling, lifting overhead, bending climbing and crawling are often required.
  • Ability to work in a manufacturing environment where temperatures that can become very hot depending on the weather.
  • Must be self-directed and motivated and able to multi-task in fast-paced, 24/7 manufacturing environment.
  • Work schedule flexibility, with advance notice, to accommodate needs of the business.
