Duties

Under the direction of the Production Supervisor, the production operator performs various duties within the plant. Perform a variety of general laboring activities, including IQF sanitation and operating equipment. Job functions may include but are not limited to:

  • Packaging Operator
  • Outside Receiver
  • IQF Sanitation
  • VA Production Operator
  • Housekeeping

  • Prepares product for distribution productively and accurately according to established guidelines and customer specifications.
  • Operate equipment safely and effectively for production processing.
  • Ensure that equipment is maintained in good and safe working condition.
  • Works independently and in a team as assigned and moves between job functions as needed.
  • Processing must be completed in a timely manner to maintain established standards/goals.
  • Practices safety awareness.
  • Adheres to GMP guidelines.
  • Packaging room operations.

  • Recording quality checks and production documentation accurately
  • Perform manual or computer functions to enter data in systems.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Work environment

While Performing The Functions Of This Job, The Employee

  • Continuously exposed to work near moving mechanical parts.
  • Wet or humid conditions and extreme cold.
  • Occasionally exposed to work in high, precarious places and dust airborne particles.
  • The noise level in the work environment is usually loud.

Physical demands

  • Physical activity to include standing and walking up to 8-12 hours with scheduled breaks.
  • Ability to function in a cold environment, including bending, twisting, stepping, stooping, reaching, lifting, and pushing.
  • Physical ability to move product weighing up to 45 pounds on a regular basis
  • Ability to safely operate hand and power equipment according to procedure.

Preferred Education, Certificates And Experience

  • High school diploma or state-issued equivalency certificate.
  • 6 months related factory experience or training.
  • At least 18 years of age.
  • Required to work any shift.
  • Required to work overtime if necessary.
  • Trained to operate counterbalance forklift, pallet jack, electric floor jack, floor scrubber, scissor lift.
  • Trained in sanitation basics PPE's, lock out/tag out, allergen cleaning, chemical safety, MSDS, confined spaces, kosher clean up.
