Production Operator – 3rd Shift

The Production Operator is responsible for setting up and operating equipment used to blend, mix, package, and transport liquid or dry chemical products. This role focuses on producing high-quality product safely and efficiently while meeting customer specifications and delivery requirements.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

• Set up, start, and operate production machinery while following all operating/safety procedures and ISO standards.
• Weigh and add ingredients to meet recipe specifications; load materials into equipment (including pre-blended materials).
• Monitor production processes and equipment for safe, efficient operation; troubleshoot equipment and processing issues.
• Operate machinery to mix, extrude/discharge, or handle materials per operating procedures.
• Visually/physically inspect materials to confirm they meet quality standards.
• Collect samples for lab evaluation and follow guidance on batch adjustments when needed.
• Escalate issues to the Production Lead or Shift Supervisor as appropriate.
• Perform required machine/equipment cleaning.
• Complete required system entries/transactions and maintain strong data integrity.
• Document work completed (logs, reports, and related paperwork).
• Participate in training and continuous improvement activities.
• Maintain housekeeping standards and comply with all safety/work rules.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• Experience: 1+ year manufacturing experience (preference for mixing, blending, extrusion, or industrial operations).
• Skills: manual dexterity, basic math/quantitative ability, reading comprehension, problem-solving.
• Computer skills: basic/intermediate familiarity with Microsoft Office (Word/Excel) and internet systems.

Physical & Work Environment Requirements

• Frequent standing/walking; bending/stooping/kneeling/crouching/crawling as needed.
• Frequent lifting/moving up to 55 lbs; occasional handling up to 250 lbs (with appropriate methods/equipment).
• Exposure may include humidity, dust/fumes/airborne particles, chemical dust, vibration, moving mechanical parts, and occasional outdoor weather conditions.
• PPE may include safety glasses, safety shoes, respirator, face shield, hearing protection, chemical suit, gloves, aprons, etc. (per site policy).
