Job summary

Deluxe Corporation in Lenexa, KS is seeking a second-shift press operator. You will run sheet fed and bindery equipment, follow SOPs, and work in a team to meet daily production goals. The role offers competitive benefits starting day one and opportunities for growth.

The ideal candidate has basic math, reading and computer skills, plus prior printing experience with similar equipment. The position offers an hourly rate of $18.50 to $19.50, with eligibility for an annual incentive plan.

Qualifications

• Familiar with product, equipment, printing process, and ink usage.
• Mechanical ability to operate and maintain press. Basic math, reading and computer skills.

Responsibilities

• Set up press including loading stock, setting paper path, mounting plates, die registration, adjustments to ink and water levels, and color registration.
• Understand order instructions and run press productively to meet ink density and color requirements.
• Troubleshoot mechanical breakdowns and adjust equipment as needed.
• Perform daily/weekly/monthly preventative maintenance and cleaning to ensure quality.
• Follow standard operating procedures to ensure orders meet customer expectations.

Compensation

The compensation range for this position is $18.50 - $19.50 hourly. This position will be eligible for an annual performance incentive plan. The base pay actually offered will vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, location, experience and take into account internal equity.

Responsible for running various equipment to assist with manufacturing, packaging, and shipping a quality product to the customer. Tasks will include running sheet fed, digital presses, bindery equipment, other processing equipment, and shipping/packing. Associates are responsible for following standard operating procedures and processes to ensure quality of the orders produced, while working in a team environment to achieve daily goals.Runs mostly standard work and basic manual numbering may be required. Automated or basic setups and changeovers may be required.

• Performsset-up ofpress includingidentifying and loading correct stock, setting correct paper path and stretch, mounting plates, die registration, making appropriate adjustments to the ink and water levels, assuring accurate single-color register and setting up any attribute functions, e.g. perforations, number, file holes, thermo unit, etc.


• Determine and understand all order instructions and running of press productively while, meeting job requirements of ink density, ink and water balance, color matching, and required attributes at a quality level that meets or exceeds our customer’s expectations.

• Troubleshoot mechanical breakdowns; demonstrate the ability tomake adjustments tothe equipment including blanket changes, wash up units, cleaning water system and roller settings as required.


• Perform daily, weekly, and monthly preventative maintenance and cleaning to ensure a quality product to customer as required. Understand all press controls and demonstrate their use.

Preferred Qualifications (PQs):

HS/GED with1 yearprinting experience with similar equipment.
