Job summary

A leading company in plastics manufacturing is looking for a Process Technician to operate CNC and Injection Molding equipment in Addison, Illinois. The successful candidate will have a high school diploma, mechanical skills and must be able to lift 50 pounds. Job Description

Job Title: Process Technician

FLSA Status: Non- Exempt (Hourly)

Department: Production

Reports To: 2nd Shift Supervisor

Schedule: 2:45PM – 11:15PM Monday – Friday

Location: Addison, Michigan

Basic Job Functions:

  • Operate CNC and Injection Molding equipment, spot check product for quality using measurement tools, package product for shipping, light fabrication work, and complete required paperwork in order to keep production running efficiently.

Education and Experience:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent

Required Skills/Competencies:

  • Working knowledge of manufacturing and industrial prints and diagrams.
  • Above average math and mechanical skills.
  • Familiarity and adherence to company work and safety rules and policies.
  • Ability to lift 50 pounds or greater.
  • Ability to positively interact management, supervisory personnel and coworkers.
  • Ability to operate a lift truck (forklift) with training.
  • Ability to solve problems and get the job done.
  • Good housekeeping practices.

Essential Responsibilities

  • Injection Molding Set-up, ensuring proper set up of mold and molding process including all quality, set up, and process documentation. Troubleshooting molding processes.
  • Mold maintenance and minor repair. Preform daily check of molds in production. Review all molds after production run per check list, document as needed. Maintain a record of each mold.
  • CNC Router, mill, set up, ensuring proper set up and process including all quality, set up, and process documentation.
  • Fabricate production and quality check fixtures as required.
  • Operate fabrication equipment including drill presses, saw milling machines, common and specialized hand tools.
  • Support Production Manager and Supervisors as needed.
  • Assist in Machinery repair and Maintenance as needed.
  • Preforms other duties as assigned by management.

Estimated Salary Range:

  • $18.30/HR

US Physical Requirements:

  • Will sit, stand, or walk short distances for up to the entire duration of a shift.
  • Will climb stairs on an occasional basis.
  • Will lift, push, or pull up to 55 pounds on an occasional basis.
  • Required to use hands to grasp, lift, handle, carry or feel objects on a frequent basis.
  • Must be able to comply with all safety standards and procedures.
  • May reach above shoulder heights and below the waist on a frequent basis.
  • May stoop, kneel, or bend, on an occasional basis.
  • Ability to wear personal protective equipment is required (including but not limited to; steel toed shoes, gloves, safety glasses, hearing protection, or other required PPE).
