Job summary

AllStaff Careers is seeking a floor operator for pipe mill and steelmaking support in Youngstown, OH. You will perform autonomous maintenance, operate cranes and vehicles, and help minimize delays by responding to breakdowns.

The role requires basic mechanical skills, the ability to read safety rules and manuals, and the flexibility to work rotating day/night shifts. Overtime is weekly, with a 4-on/4-off rotation.

Responsibilities

• Perform autonomous maintenance tasks such as greasing, oiling, and checking fluid levels.
• Operate overhead cranes, jib cranes, and motorized vehicles.
• Inspect pipe quality and report defects promptly.
• Support production by completing shift reports for the Team Leader.
• Execute tooling and roll changes and make basic equipment repairs.
• Maintain clean, safe production areas and participate in QA tasks.

What’s in it for you?$23.00/hour plus overtime paid weeklySwing Shift AvailableMust be able to work both days and nightsSchedule: 6:00am - 6:00pm and 6:00pm - 6:00amRotation: 4 days on, 4 days offSchedule may vary depending on departmentFree Pay CardAllStaff All-Star Award when hired permanentlyFree smiles when you visit our officePosition DescriptionWork in a manufacturing environment supporting pipe mill and steelmaking operations.Perform autonomous maintenance tasks such as greasing, oiling, and checking fluid levels.Operate overhead cranes, jib cranes, and motorized vehicles.Participate in continuous improvement activities throughout the facility.Perform minor troubleshooting of electrical and mechanical problems.Know the locations of all shutdown and lockout switches in the assigned area.Remove scrap from the work area and keep production areas clean and safe.Operate all floor stations in the assigned area.Make equipment adjustments as directed by operators or supervisors.Understand the functionality of equipment in the pipe mill.Recognize quality defects and understand their origin.Inspect pipe and immediately report any quality issues.Perform essential floor operation duties to support production.Help minimize delays by responding to breakdowns, making rounds in work areas, and identifying hazards or malfunctioning equipment.Complete shift reports thoroughly and submit them to the Team Leader by the end of each shift.Execute tooling and roll changes.Make effective repairs to equipment within the scope of your experience and training.Operate and understand QA tools and measurement parameters, including micrometers.Perform other duties as assigned.Basic QualificationsPrevious training and experience in a manufacturing environment required.Experience with steelmaking and/or pipe mill operations preferred.Must be flexible to work any shift assigned.Must have general mechanical skills and be able to use a torch and tools effectively to complete tasks.Must be willing and able to learn all area-specific floor mechanic responsibilities.Ability to read and interpret safety rules, operating instructions, maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide using whole numbers, fractions, and decimals.Ready to apply?Please apply online, text, or call us now at [phone] so we can help you find a great opportunity!Who is AllStaff?Check out our reviews, people love working with AllStaff.
