Job description

Location & Schedule

Production Operator – 1st Shift (Mon – Thurs, 3:00 am – 1:30 pm). Available to work overtime scheduled on Friday & Saturday.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and mix ingredients as per manufacturing orders, measuring, weighing, and documenting amounts.
• Load up to 50 lbs of ingredients into mixers, blend based on time specifications, and transfer batches to the next process.
• Process batches through extrusion equipment, conduct product sensory checks to ensure specifications are met.
• Manage finished product transfer from extrusion and drying processes; load product onto polishing pans and add liquid ingredients by hand or automation.
• Coordinate transfer of finished product from extrusion to subsequent processes using drums, carts, or trays.
• Adhere to Human safety, food safety, Good Manufacturing Practices, and product quality standards.
• Maintain reliable attendance.
• Perform lock‑out/tag‑out procedures to de‑energize equipment during unloading and cleaning.
• Use sifting equipment to screen finished product, ensuring size and shape meet specifications.
• Meet physical demands: regularly lift and move up to 50 lbs, frequently lift and move up to 30 lbs, and roll drums up to 300 lbs; bend, twist, and reach as required.

Qualifications

• Six months to one year of related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of training and experience.
• Ability to read, write and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating instructions, procedure manuals, quality documents and other related shipping documents.
• Proficiency in using handheld devices to scan ingredient barcodes and enter quantities used for inventory accuracy.
• Ability to use powered hand trucks to move finished product to the next process staging areas.
• Commitment to follow lock‑out/tag‑out and safety procedures.
• Physical capability to lift, move, roll, bend, twist and reach as described in the job description.

Salary

Salary Base Range: $19.00—$22.00 per hour for Employees Located in Illinois.
