Job description

Location

Working as part of the ElkGrove Village team, you will see the products you help make enjoyed across America. The position is on 2nd shift (Monday–Thursday, 1:30 PM – 12:20 AM) and requires availability for overtime on Friday and Saturday.

Essential Responsibilities

• Mixing: Read and follow manufacturing instructions to gather, measure, weigh, and document ingredients. Load up to 50 lb. of ingredients into a mixer, blend according to time specifications, and unload the mixer to transfer the mixed batch to the next process.
• Extrusion: Process mixing batches through extrusion equipment, using product controls to conduct sensory checks and ensure the finished product meets customer specifications throughout the extrusion process.
• Polishing: Manage and transfer finished product from extrusion and drying processes. Load finished product from drums, carts, or trays into polishing pans and add liquid ingredients by hand or automation.
• Catching: Transfer finished product from extrusion processes using drums, carts, or trays to the next process.
• Safety & Quality: Adhere to human safety, food safety, Good Manufacturing Practices, and product quality standards.
• Attendance: Maintain consistent attendance as a core responsibility.

Education & Experience Requirements

• Six months to one year of related experience and/or training, or an equivalent combination of training and experience.
• Ability to read, write, and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating instructions, procedure manuals, quality documents, and other related shipping documents.
• Ability to use handheld devices to scan ingredient barcodes and enter quantities used to maintain inventory accuracy.
• Proficiency with powered hand trucks to move finished product to next process staging areas.
• Perform lock‑out/tag‑out procedures, properly de‑energizing equipment during product unloading and mixing equipment cleaning activities.
• Use of sifting equipment to screen finished product and ensure product size and shape meet customer specifications.

Physical Requirements

• Regular ability to lift and/or move up to 50 + pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 30 pounds, and roll up to 300 pound drums.
• Frequent bending, twisting, and reaching necessary to perform job duties.

Salary: $19 – $22 an hour.
