Job summary

ContiTech, a unit of Continental, operates a spiral production facility in the United States. The selected candidate will safely operate production equipment, work in a team setting, and ensure quality throughout the process.

The role emphasizes safe operation, timely reporting, and continuous improvement within a 24/7 plant environment in Mount Pleasant, IA. Training and benefits are provided as part of employment with ContiTech.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent; related experience and/or training.

Responsibilities

• Safely operate various types of industrial machinery in a fast-paced, quality-oriented environment.
• Work closely with other operators and leads in the spiral production area.
• Set up and operate equipment to safely produce quality spiral products; complete production and quality reports.
• Control product quality throughout the production process; contact QA if needed.
• Troubleshoot simple mechanical issues and perform basic operator maintenance.
• Operate a forklift as required and move material to specification.
• Collaborate in a self-directed team and participate in team meetings and projects.
• Maintain housekeeping in the plant and work areas.

Job Description

How You Will Make an Impact:

• Safely operate various types of industrial machinery in a fast-paced, computerized, quality-oriented environment.
• Part of a work team and must work closely with other operators and spiral team lead and spiral coordinator.
• Work in a safe manner, including the use of all required personal protective equipment as required by plant policy.
• Set up and operate all equipment to safely and efficiently produce a quality product in the spiral production areas of the plant. This includes the installation and removal of proper tooling. This includes completion of all production and quality reports (paper or computer based).
• Control the quality of the product throughout the production process. Contact Quality Assurance if necessary.
• Solve simple mechanical problems, perform basic operator maintenance and troubleshoot equipment as required.
• Drive a fork life as required and pull material to specification and oldest material first.
• Work successfully in a self-directed team environment. This includes attendance and participation in team meetings, committee meetings, special projects and task forces as required.
• Perform routine housekeeping in work area and throughout the plant as required.

The plant is in operation 24 hours per day, 7 days per week.

Qualifications

Basic Qualification: High School Diploma or equivalent; and related experience and/ or training.
