Continental in Mount Pleasant, IA is seeking a production operator to safely run industrial machinery in a 24/7 facility, focusing on quality and efficiency. The role requires attention to safety, tool setup, and consistent production reporting to ensure quality output.

You will work in a team-based environment with cross-functional collaborators, participate in continuous improvement, and uphold housekeeping standards while contributing to plant safety policies and operational excellence.

• High School Diploma or equivalent or related experience and training.

Responsibilities

• Safely operate various types of industrial machinery in a fast-paced, computerized, quality-oriented environment.
• Work as part of a team and coordinate with operators, spiral team lead, and spiral coordinator.
• Adhere to plant safety rules and wear required PPE.
• Set up and operate equipment to produce a quality product in spiral production areas, including tooling installation.
• Maintain product quality throughout the production process; contact Quality Assurance when needed.
• Troubleshoot simple mechanical issues and perform basic operator maintenance.
• Operate forklift and move material to specification, prioritizing oldest stock.
• Participate in team meetings and company initiatives; engage in housekeeping.
• Maintain clean work area and plant-wide housekeeping.

Job Description

How You Will Make an Impact:

• Safely operate various types of industrial machinery in a fast-paced, computerized, quality-oriented environment.
• Part of a work team and must work closely with other operators and spiral team lead and spiral coordinator.
• Work in a safe manner, including the use of all required personal protective equipment as required by plant policy.
• Set up and operate all equipment to safely and efficiently produce a quality product in the spiral production areas of the plant. This includes the installation and removal of proper tooling. This includes completion of all production and quality reports (paper or computer based).
• Control the quality of the product throughout the production process. Contact Quality Assurance if necessary.
• Solve simple mechanical problems, perform basic operator maintenance and troubleshoot equipment as required.
• Drive a fork life as required and pull material to specification and oldest material first.
• Work successfully in a self-directed team environment. This includes attendance and participation in team meetings, committee meetings, special projects and task forces as required.
• Perform routine housekeeping in work area and throughout the plant as required.

The plant is in operation 24 hours per day, 7 days per week.

Qualifications

Basic Qualification: High School Diploma or equivalent; and related experience and/ or training.
