Job summary

Avantor is seeking a Warehouse Associate to support the manufacture and packaging of pre-mixed assay materials and refining fluxes for mining and laboratory markets. The role follows a Monday–Friday schedule, 7:30 AM–4:00 PM, and requires forklift experience with 1–3 years in warehousing or manufacturing.

The ideal candidate will exhibit strong communication, basic math skills, and the ability to work in a loud industrial environment, while adhering to safety protocols and quality standards.

Qualifications

  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills are required.
  • Basic mathematical skills are a must.
  • Forklift experience is required.
  • 1-3 years warehouse and/or manufacturing experience preferred.
  • High school diploma or equivalent is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Composes and affixes product labels to products.
  • Operates forklift, hand truck and pallet jack for loading flux components into the mixer and for shipment.
  • Ventilation system operation: loads and dispenses product from flux mixers; daily blow-down and periodic dumping of particulate.
  • Mixer loading and mixing per batch sheet instructions.
  • Prepares packaging, mixer unloading and dispensing.
  • Palletize and inventory; perform general warehousing tasks.
  • Report any security or health and safety infractions promptly to the appropriate contacts.
  • Perform other related tasks as directed by supervisor to ensure efficient department operation.

The Opportunity:

This position involves the manufacture and packaging of pre-mixed assay and refining fluxes for sale to the mining and commercial assay laboratory markets.

Schedule:

Monday - Friday

7:30 AM - 4:00 PM

WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR
  • High school diploma or equivalent is a plus
  • Forklift experience required
  • 1-3 years warehouse and/or manufacturing experience is preferred
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills
  • Basic mathematical skills are a must
HOW YOU WILL THRIVE
  • Composes and affixes product labels to products
  • Operates forklift, hand truck and pallet jack for the safe loading of flux components into the mixer(s) and the safe placement and maneuvering of products within the flux farm area and/or other areas of the main warehouse for shipment.
  • Ventilation System Operation: Utilizes ventilation system on hand for the loading and dispensing of product from the flux mixers. Operates compressor for daily blow-down and periodic dumping of particulate collected in the bag house for recirculation into the flux manufacturing circuit.
  • Mixer Loading and Mixing Operation , as per batch sheet instructions.
  • Prepares packaging
  • Mixer unloading - dispensing
  • Palletize and inventory
  • General Warehousing Tasks
  • Reports security and/or health and safety infractions or potential infractions in a timely manner and to the appropriate contacts.
  • Performs other related tasks that his/her supervisor deems necessary for the efficient operation of the department.

The associate works near moving mechanical machinery and noise level in the work environment is usually loud. The job requires working in heights, exposure to changes in temperature, driving equipment, and maybe exposed to dust, fumes, or gases. The associate is required to stand and walk for the majority of the working day. The physical requirements of the job are for associates to talk, hear, bend/stoop, squat, crawl, climb height, reach above shoulder height, crouch, kneel, balance, and push/pull. Furthermore, the job requires associates to lift/carry/push or pull up to 75 pounds with or without assistance. Associates use both hands for repetitive actions such as grasping and manipulating as well as both feet for repetitive movement operating foots controls. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
