Job summary

International Flavors & Fragrances Inc. is seeking a Production Operator for our Rockland, ME site. This on-site role supports extraction line operations, with responsibilities including monitoring equipment, adjusting controls, and ensuring product quality.

You will perform routine inspections, troubleshoot issues, and maintain accurate production records while adhering to GMPs and safety standards. The position requires flexibility for shifts, weekends, and overtime as needed.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Basic mechanical aptitude and understanding of industrial equipment operation.
  • Ability to read, understand, and follow written instructions, procedures, and production documentation.
  • Ability to perform basic mathematical calculations accurately.
  • Strong attention to detail with a commitment to quality, safety, and continuous improvement.
  • Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 lbs. as needed.
  • Ability to work in manufacturing environments with noise, dust, and varying temperatures.
  • Flexibility to work rotating shifts, weekends, holidays, and overtime when business needs require.
  • Current and valid driver’s license required.

Responsibilities

  • Operate and monitor extraction line equipment to ensure safe, efficient production.
  • Adjust machine settings and process controls to meet production requirements and quality standards.
  • Perform routine inspections of equipment, raw materials, and finished products to maintain operational excellence.
  • Identify, troubleshoot, and report process deviations, equipment malfunctions, and safety concerns.
  • Complete production records, operational logs, and system documentation accurately and timely.
  • Support preventive maintenance activities and assist with basic equipment troubleshooting.
  • Collaborate with Operations, Maintenance, Quality, and other departments to achieve production goals.
  • Follow all SOPs, GMPs, and safety requirements.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and hazard-free work environment through effective housekeeping practices.
