Job summary

IFS INDUSTRIES, INC. is seeking Production Operators to prepare, produce and package industrial adhesive products. Multiple shifts are available with differential pay and overtime as needed.

Responsibilities include weighing materials, operating scales and machinery, recording production data and maintaining quality across the line. Applicants must pass safety screenings and be able to stand, lift up to 55 lbs, and learn forklift operation.

Qualifications

• Speak, read and write English effectively.
• Possess minimum math skills (addition, subtraction, multiplication and division).
• Learn and practice Lean Manufacturing Techniques.

Responsibilities

• Weigh quantities of materials for use in the manufacturing processes.
• Place loose or packaged material on scales and adjust portions to prescribed weight.
• Read work orders to determine materials and procedures for weighing.
• Record weight of materials used for production and update inventory.
• Monitor time and temperature as specified on Batch tickets.
• Start and observe machines, report malfunctions to supervisor.
• Transfer weighed materials to production or storage areas.
• Record product type, date and batch number; inspect materials and containers at each step.
• Train in different roles on the production line from start to finish.
• Maintain clean work area, machines, tools and equipment.

• 2nd Shift (Mon-Fri, 3pm-11pm)
• 3rd shift (Sun-Thu, 11pm-7am)
• Shift Differential Pay / Overtime as Needed

Requirements

• ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
• Weighs quantities of materials for use in the manufacturing processes.
• Places loose or packaged material on scales and adds or removes portions of material to obtain specified weight.
• Reads work order or formula to determine types and quantities of materials to weigh and procedure to be followed for manufacturing process.
• Records weight of materials used for production records, and maintains perpetual inventory of materials used and on hand by recording and marking drums.
• Dumps materials in prescribed sequence into vat, hopper or mixing pot.
• Monitor and log time and temperature as specified on Batch ticket.
• Starts machine and observes operation to detect malfunctions of machine. Stops machine and reports malfunction to supervisor.
• Transfers weighed materials to production or storage areas.
• Records information such as weight, type of product, date and batch number of products produced.
• Inspects materials, products, and containers at each step of manufacturing process.
• Trains in different roles on the production line from beginning to end.
• Cleans work area, machines, tools, and equipment. Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualification Requirements

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.

• Follow all safety guidelines and processes.
• Wear required safety Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) throughout shift.
• Unrestricted ability to stand, walk, bend, stoop, climb, reach, twist and balance.
• Ability to push, pull and continuously lift up to 55 lbs.
• Able to work in an unregulated temperature and dusty environment while wearing required PPE.
• Be willing and able to learn to operate forklift safely.
• Learn to use and operate scan guns to report and control inventories.
• Speak, read and write English effectively.
• Possess minimum math skills (addition, subtraction, multiplication and division)
• Complete ongoing required safety training.
• Must have reliable transportation and be dependable.
• Need to have drive and initiative to succeed and grow within the organization.
• Learn and practice Lean Manufacturing Techniques.
• HS Diploma or equivalent GED
