Requirements
- ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
- Weighs quantities of materials for use in the manufacturing processes.
- Places loose or packaged material on scales and adds or removes portions of material to obtain specified weight.
- Reads work order or formula to determine types and quantities of materials to weigh and procedure to be followed for manufacturing process.
- Records weight of materials used for production records, and maintains perpetual inventory of materials used and on hand by recording and marking drums.
- Dumps materials in prescribed sequence into vat, hopper or mixing pot.
- Monitor and log time and temperature as specified on Batch ticket.
- Starts machine and observes operation to detect malfunctions of machine. Stops machine and reports malfunction to supervisor.
- Transfers weighed materials to production or storage areas.
- Records information such as weight, type of product, date and batch number of products produced.
- Inspects materials, products, and containers at each step of manufacturing process.
- Trains in different roles on the production line from beginning to end.
- Cleans work area, machines, tools, and equipment. Performs other duties as assigned.
Qualification Requirements
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.
- Follow all safety guidelines and processes.
- Wear required safety Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) throughout shift.
- Unrestricted ability to stand, walk, bend, stoop, climb, reach, twist and balance.
- Ability to push, pull and continuously lift up to 55 lbs.
- Able to work in an unregulated temperature and dusty environment while wearing required PPE.
- Be willing and able to learn to operate forklift safely.
- Learn to use and operate scan guns to report and control inventories.
- Speak, read and write English effectively.
- Possess minimum math skills (addition, subtraction, multiplication and division)
- Complete ongoing required safety training.
- Must have reliable transportation and be dependable.
- Need to have drive and initiative to succeed and grow within the organization.
- Learn and practice Lean Manufacturing Techniques.
- HS Diploma or equivalent GED
