Job summary

  • Ability to use measuring tools and production equipment.
  • Forklift certification preferred or willing to learn to operate forklift safely.
  • Speak, read and write English effectively.
  • Learn to use and operate scan guns to report and control inventories.
  • Able to lift 55 lbs. bags in a constant rhythm.
  • Physically able to work 8 hrs. shift.

Responsibilities

  • Operate production machinery and equipment according to SOPs.
  • Monitor production lines to ensure efficient workflow and product quality.
  • Perform routine equipment checks and basic troubleshooting.
  • Follow all safety, environmental, and quality regulations.
  • Start machine and observe operation to detect malfunctions; report to supervisor.
  • Read work orders to determine materials and procedures.
  • Weigh materials for manufacturing processes.
  • Load raw materials into vat or mixing pot.
  • Monitor and log time and temperature on batch tickets.
  • Record product details on batch sheets and inventory logs.
  • Perform quality checks to ensure specs and quality standards.
  • Transfer finished product to totes.
  • Inspect materials, products and containers at each step.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area (5S).
  • Report malfunctions or safety hazards to supervisors.
  • Collaborate with maintenance, quality, and production teams.
  • Clean work area, machines, tools, and equipment.

Job description

Work Schedule The Production Operator is responsible for safely operating manufacturing equipment, monitoring product quality, and supporting efficient production processes. This role ensures production targets, safety standards, and quality requirements are consistently met.

Compounds, mixes and blends product batches, runs production lines and transfers finished product into totes by performing the following duties:

1st Shift - 5:45 A.M. - 2:15 P.M.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Operate production machinery and equipment according to standard operating procedures (SOPs)
  • Monitor production lines to ensure efficient workflow and product quality
  • Perform routine equipment checks and basic troubleshooting
  • Follow all safety, environmental, and quality regulations
  • Starts machine and observes operation to detect malfunctions of machine. Stops machine and reports malfunction to supervisor.
  • Reads work order or formula to determine types and quantities of materials to weigh and procedure to be followed for manufacturing process.
  • Weighs quantities of materials for use in the manufacturing processes.
  • Load raw materials products in prescribed sequence into vat, hopper or mixing pot.
  • Monitor and log time and temperature as specified on Batch ticket.
  • Accurately records information such as weight, type of product, date and batch number of products produced
  • Maintains accuracy of inventory of materials used and on hand by recording on the batch sheet and marking drums.
  • Perform quality checks during production to ensure products meet production specifications and customer quality standards.
  • Transfer finished product from holding tanks to totes
  • Inspect materials, products, and containers at each step of manufacturing process.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area (5S/housekeeping standards)
  • Report on equipment malfunctions, safety hazards, or quality concerns to supervisors
  • Work collaboratively with maintenance, quality, and production teams
  • Cleans work area, machines, tools, and equipment. Performs other routine duties.
Requirements

Physical Requirements

The employee must frequently lift and/or move items over 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus. Must be able to read reports and complete reports in English.
