Job summary

Nouryon in Pasadena, TX is seeking a Production Operator to run plant equipment in line with safety, quality and production guidelines. The role requires understanding area processes, operating equipment, and supporting continuous improvement with basic troubleshooting and documentation in English.

You will work under the Production Supervisor, contribute to achieving production targets, perform basic maintenance tasks, wear required PPE, and be part of the Emergency Response Team as needed.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED; Associate Degree of Technology acceptable in lieu of experience.
• 3+ years plant process experience.
• Must lift at least 58 lb.
• Must wear respirator, rubber gloves, steel-toed boots, safety glasses and hard hat.
• Must be a member of the Emergency Response Team.
• On the board: must be able to see colors and hear alarms.
• Able to read and write to document activities and read procedures in English.
• Finger dexterity to type and operate the DCS.

About the job

To operate plant equipment in line with approved safety, quality and production guidelines meeting customer needs. In your future role as Production Operator you will

• Understand and operate the equipment or processes in area of assignment.
• Know mechanical operation of piping and equipment in assigned area.
• Working knowledge of plant processes in area of assignment, SPC, Chemistry, business considerations, etc.
• Assist in the development of job analysis for area of responsibility and also training of others in area if assignment.
• Understand diagrams, equipment, process description, process control, problem solving of area, job analysis, etc.
• Basic maintenance skills including troubleshooting equipment.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED Associate Degree of Technology (in lieu of experience)
• 3+ years plant process experience
• Must be able to lift at least 58 lb.
• Must be able to wear respirator, rubber gloves, steel toed boots, safety glasses and hard hat
• Must be a member of the Emergency Response Team
• On the board: must be able to see colors (labels are color coded) and hear (audio alarms)
• Able to read and write to document what they are doing and read the procedures which are in English.
• Have certain amount of finger dexterity to type and also be able to run the DCS (control board)
