Responsibilities
- Perform administrative tasks such as inventory control, inspecting/grading finished products, and conducting housekeeping and safety inspections.
- Monitor the Sontara process using computer systems like VXL, Mapex, NDC Scanner, and Milo Scanner; adjust, start, or stop equipment as needed.
- Identify and train new and less experienced operators.
- Perform mechanical tasks including minor repairs and replacing contaminated jets.
- Troubleshoot processes and equipment to maintain quality standards; respond to system alarms and conduct visual inspections.
- Safely start-up and shut down production lines, following lockout/tagout procedures.
- Monitor systems across various production areas and make adjustments according to SOC.
- Follow procedures during emergency situations to maintain safety and efficiency.
- Operate light industrial machinery such as forklifts, AGVs, and tuggers.
- Manage the flow of fiber, steam, or water in the process.
- Perform preventative maintenance and change process variables as per specifications.
- Ensure proper water treatment and operate related equipment; manage chemical additives.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED; 1-3 months of related experience/training.
- Ability to interpret safety rules, operating instructions, and manuals.
- Proficient in writing reports and safety documentation.
- Effective communication with maintenance and production personnel.
- Basic math skills and familiarity with measurement tools.
- Experience with SPFA or similar MRP systems; proficient in Microsoft Office.
- Ability to work 12-hour rotating shifts with overtime.
- Physical ability to climb, bend, lift, stand for long periods, and work in various environments.
