Job description

Star Plastics is hiring a Production Operator in Millwood, WV.

Essential Functions

• Operate production machinery in accordance with the Structured Job Training (SJT) document. Assigned equipment includes Blender, Screener, Bagger, Shedders, Granulators, Bulk‑In and Out, and Unloaders.
• Produce the required output within established specifications and tolerances.
• Measure finished product to ensure compliance with function, quality, and aesthetic specifications.
• Maintain good housekeeping and clean work areas in the assigned area.
• Maintain logs and records of material produced, including a record of errors resulting in rejected or substandard material.
• Inspect equipment prior to use to ensure proper setup and alignment.
• Assist fellow operators to achieve maximum productivity and minimize turnaround time.

Required Education & Experience

• High school diploma or equivalent.

Preferred Education & Experience

• 1‑3 years’ experience working in a manufacturing environment.
• Fork truck license.

Required Skills and Abilities

• Ability to work in a fast‑paced environment.
• Understand and adhere to all plant safety guidelines.
• Must be able to understand verbal and written instructions.
• Ability to become certified as a fork truck driver.
• Ability to use a keyboard and learn applicable computer software programs.
• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.

Physical Requirements

• Lift up to 80 lbs. at waist level, up to 80 lbs. at floor level, and up to 40 lbs. at elevated level on a rare basis when moving products.
• Display average coordination with both hands on a continuous basis while performing job tasks.
• Perform elevated work on an occasional basis when handling products.
• Stoop, kneel or squat on an occasional basis when handling products.
• Reach forward and to the side on an occasional basis when handling products.
• Stand on a continuous basis and walk on a frequent basis during the course of each shift.
• Climb steps on an occasional basis.
• Able to perform repetitive tasks up to 12 hours per shift.
• Ability to be on feet for up to 8‑12 hours per shift.
• Climb steps/ladders on an occasional basis.
