Job summary

Manpower in Knoxville, TN is seeking a Production Operator to join a leading manufacturing organization. The role requires reliability, teamwork, and a strong work ethic in a fast-paced plant environment.

You will operate industrial saws, measure with tape and layout tools, and support workflows to ensure materials move efficiently. This temp-to-hire position offers a first shift, opportunities for overtime, and room to grow within the operation.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED, or at least 1 year of relevant work experience.
• Ability to stand for prolonged periods and perform repetitive motions.
• Tolerance for odors, fumes, airborne particles, heat, and noise levels.
• Capability to lift up to 50 pounds and walk throughout a large facility.
• Outstanding communication skills and ability to work well with others.

Responsibilities

• Raw Material Processing: Retrieve, inspect, and prep raw steel stock at the beginning stages of production.
• Precision Cutting: Operate designated industrial saws to cut steel to exact project specifications.
• Accurate Measurement: Use tape measures and precision layout tools to guarantee tight tolerances and zero waste.
• Workflow Support: Understand and follow production workflows to ensure downstream teams get materials on time.
• Safety & Maintenance: Maintain strict safety rules, manage scrap metal, and ensure a clean, hazard-free work environment.

Job Title: Production Operator

Pay Range: $18-$19, DOE

Shift: 1st Shift - Monday-Thursday, 5:30AM-4PM
