Job summary

PTA Plastics in Indiana seeks a production operator to assist in the setup, blending, and packaging of dry chemical powders. The role requires forklift experience, the ability to lift up to 50 lbs, and a background in production or manufacturing.

You will work in a team and independently, following production reports and safety procedures. Daily duties include preparing mixes, packaging, quality sampling, and site cleanups, with opportunities to assist maintenance and training of new staff.

Qualifications

• Forklift experience is required or preferred.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs as part of daily duties.
• Experience in a production or manufacturing setting is necessary.
• Ability to work effectively in a team and also independently.
• Capable of following a production report and maintaining accuracy.

Responsibilities

• Make mixes daily as required by specification (weigh and dump ingredients).
• Package material in bags, jumbo sacks, vessels or bulk tankers.
• Complete daily paperwork.
• Sample products for quality checks.
• Maintain a clean and safe working environment.
• Assist maintenance department when required.
• Operate Forklift Truck and/or Yard Truck as needed.
• Unload raw materials and load finished goods.
• Operate control panel.
• Handle hazardous materials safely.
• Know how to safely operate all equipment in the production area.
• General cleanup of production facility.
• Assist with training of new employees.
• Other duties assigned by Operations Director, Production Manager and/or COO.

KEY RESPONSIBILI

• Make mixes daily as required by specification (weigh and dump ingredients).
• Packaging material in bags, jumbo sacks, vessels or bulk tankers.
• Complete daily paperwork.
• Sample products that are produced for quality checks.
• Maintain clean and safe working environment.
• Assist maintenance department when required.
• Operate Forklift Truck and/or Yard Truck (moving trailers).
• Unload raw materials and load finished goods.
• Operate control panel.
• Handle hazardous materials safely.
• Must know how to safely operate all equipment used in the production area.
• General cleanup of production facility.
• Assist with training of new employees.
• Other duties, as assigned, by Operations Director, Production Manager and/or COO, to assist with business needs.
