Pay rate: $20.00/hr
Hours: Teams work a 2-3-2 pattern, which is two days on, two days off, three days on, and two days off. Training will likely be on day shift, but will go to nights once trained.
Crew C works 6:45 PM – 7:00 AM shifts and has off days on Sunday, Monday, Thursday, and Friday in the first week, and on Sunday, Monday, Thursday, and Friday in the second week.
Crew D works 6:45 PM – 7:00 AM shifts and has off days on Sunday, Monday, Thursday, and Friday in the first week, and on Sunday, Monday, Thursday, and Friday in the second week.

Duration: 3 months, Position has the potential to go temp to perm, based on performance and attendance
Summary:
This position is responsible for Line Inspection duties. This employee must demonstrate core skills, which include understanding company safety policies, adherence to the SGC Principles of Conduct and Action guidelines, as well as, the five SGC Attitudes. Also 5-S requirements, sustaining the process and general housekeeping are required. Employee must follow verbal and written instructions and have knowledge of product line and manufacturing standards. The normal operating duties listed below are not intended to be inclusive and may change depending on unforeseen circumstances or are assigned by supervision for success of the operation.
Responsibilities
- Able to perform quality tests to determine conformance of finished products and stop the line if needed
- Able to conduct routine and assigned audits
- Maintain 5S of the line inspection work area, tools and materials
- Make decisions concerning product quality and provide support to operations
- Able to work independently or with a team, and maintain good communication skills
- Must be able to work closely with plant production personnel to resolve quality issues, assess compliance with standards, reject obviously non-conforming material in real time
- Enter test data in required systems
- Able to read, interpret, and follow SOP’s, labels, instructions, specifications, and reference materials
- Must be able to follow written procedures
- Must be able to work with minimal supervision, be self-driven, and motivated
- Must adhere to testing frequencies mandated in regard to finished products
- Fill in for absent or vacationing employee in the same roll.
- Must be able to work 12 hours, lift 50 lbs. on a repeated basis over a normal workday, and climb ladders safely.
Skills / Experience:
- Must have 3+ years in a quality inspection position or in a quality lab position to be considered.
- Please do not submit candidates that do not have the required quality inspection and quality testing in a lab environment with lab instrumentation in a manufacturing environment. If they have a completed post secondary education, they must also have 3 years experience.
- If they do not have any post secondary education, they must have at least 5 years experience.
- Please focus on submitted candidates that would be able to pass a color blind test, as they will be tasked with visually checking shingles for color correctness.
- Candidate must have quality inspection work.
- They will be working the line, but will need to inspect product for color, measuring shingles, etc.
Qualifications and Education Requirements:
- High School Diploma or GED In order to abide by certain OSHA and local government agency regulations, mandatory safety training, protective gear and chemical handling procedures are required.
- Must be able to read/write and possess strong mathematical skills.
- Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office and willingness to obtain additional training as needed.
- Will be required to pass a competency test prior to interviewing.
- Must be willing to work 12 hour shifts.
- Work Schedule - We use the Fixed Pitman schedule, which is is a 24-hour shift system that uses four teams working 12-hour shifts to provide around-the-clock coverage.
