Job summary

Johnson Matthey Plc is seeking a Production Operator in Devon, PA to perform production process operations per SOPs while prioritizing safety, quality and efficiency.

You will load/unload materials, inspect and pack products, record production data, and monitor equipment. The role supports training peers and contributes to continuous improvement initiatives.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Ability to follow procedures and rules.
• Basic to intermediate computer usage desirable.

Responsibilities

• Follow standard operating procedures to operate production processes safely and efficiently.
• Load/unload materials, inspect and pack products as required.
• Record production statistics and monitor equipment performance.
• Identify and escalate safety, quality, or process issues promptly.
• Assist in training other Operators and contribute to continuous improvement.

The role of a Production Operator is to complete a production process operation according to standard operating procedures. Responsible for operating in a safe, productive and high-quality manner. These duties may include loading / unloading, inspection, packing, material movement, recording production statistics, operating or monitoring equipment operation and/or processes. Additionally, they are expected to actively participate in problem solving activities to help the team meet its goals.

The role:

As a Production Operator, you will help drive our goals by:

Safety:

• Adheres to safety standards at all times
• Identifies opportunities to improve safety

Quality:

• To carry out standard operations effectively in a safe manner to a high-quality standard. E.g. loading / unloading, inspecting and packing.
• Checks quality of work according to JM and customer specifications.

Delivery:

• Accountable for following standard processes to complete tasks.
• Escalates issues to ensure a timely resolution.
• Identifies and escalates opportunities for improvement.

Cost:

• Supports CAPS implementation, as part of this using lean tools such a problem solving and 5S.
• Identifies opportunities for continuous improvement and the implementation of best practice principles, to enhance performance and operations.

People:

• Supports in the training of other Operators
• Models JM Values & Behaviors

Key skills that will help you succeed in this role:

• H.S Diploma or Equivalent – Required
• Works in accordance with procedures and rules
• Basic to intermediate knowledge in computer usage - desirable

Note: Must be open to 2nd Shift and 3rd Shift
