Job summary

Amcor LLC is seeking a Winder Operator to run extrusion lines, ensure product quality, and maintain materials flow in a fast-paced plant in Ohio. The role requires standing for long shifts, lifting heavy items, and adhering to GMPs and safety protocols.

You will assist with changeovers and document production data on work orders to support continuous operations. The position emphasizes teamwork, adherence to procedures, and reliability to keep lines running efficiently while meeting quality

Qualifications

  • Ability to lift up to 80 pounds.
  • Trained in PVC manufacturing procedures as it relates to the Winder Operator position.
  • Ability to understand written and verbal instructions.
  • Ability to properly use a tape measure and calculator.
  • Reports maintenance and safety issues to shift supervision.
  • Ability to safely operate, maintain and perform minor adjustments on heavy equipment.
  • Ability to maintain effective working relationships with others.
  • Must be able to stand for 12 hours per shift.

Responsibilities

  • Operate extrusion equipment to meet production and quality standards.
  • Make boxes and wax cores to fulfill work orders on the production line.
  • Ensure adequate raw materials are available for continuous operation.
  • Perform first piece, in-process, and finished roll quality checks per Quality Line Report.
  • Assist with changeovers, line thread-up, screen changes and other setup tasks.
  • Record production data accurately on work orders.
  • Follow all PPE requirements, safety rules, and GMPs; maintain housekeeping.

Job DescriptionJOB SUMMARY:Responsible for operation of extrusion equipment; including but not limited to, product quality, following all SOCs, winder flips, box making, core and resin supply constancy. Must comply with all safety, quality, GMPs, productivity and cleanliness standards.ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:Responsible meeting production and product requirements in accordance with the scheduled work order(s).Makes boxes and waxes cores to be used to fulfill work order requirements on production line.Ensure adequate raw material (compound) levels are available to consistently run line.Performs first piece, periodic and finished roll quality checks: such as, roll weight, width, footage, stretch, core length, packaging and other quality inspections in accordance with Quality Line Report.When applicable, and directed by work order, complete quality check on every roll.Assists Production Techs in making changeovers, line thread-up, screen changes and other set-up tasks needed to getting production lines in operation.Responsible for accurately completing and recording production data on work order paperwork.All other assignments, general and specific, as directed by SupervisionResponsible for working safely, cleanly and ethically. Follow all plant PPE requirements, safety rules and policies. Reports unsafe conditions to supervisor immediately.Responsible for maintaining general area housekeeping and recording its completion in the daily cleaning logs.Responsible for following all GMPs to assure food product safety.SECONDARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITES:This job description reflects the general details considered necessary to describe the principal functions of the job identified for the purpose of job evaluation.
