Job summary

PAFCO, a $700MM+ global seafood manufacturing company with 45+ years of success, seeks a Production Mechanic in a fish processing facility in Florida. You will maintain, repair, and troubleshoot production equipment to minimize downtime and support safety, quality, and efficiency goals.

Responsibilities include servicing conveyors, slicers, vacuum packers, and related machinery; reading blueprints; upholding sanitation and safety standards; and assisting with equipment upgrades and records.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED; technical or trade school certification preferred.
• 2+ years of experience in a food processing or manufacturing environment, preferably seafood or protein-related.
• Strong knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and pneumatic systems.
• Ability to read blueprints, schematics, and manuals.
• Familiarity with food safety and sanitation standards.
• Able to work in cold, wet environments.
• Basic computer skills for work orders and inventory systems.
• Bilingual (English/Spanish) is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Perform scheduled and emergency maintenance on processing and packaging machinery (e.g., conveyors, slicers, vacuum packers, scales, pumps, chillers).
• Inspect and troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems.
• Maintain sanitation standards by supporting clean-in-place (CIP) and disassembly/reassembly processes.
• Assist with equipment installation, relocation, or upgrades.
• Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, repairs, and parts used.
• Ensure compliance with OSHA, GMP, HACCP, and company safety policies.
• Collaborate with production staff to identify potential equipment issues.
• Perform other duties as assigned by the Maintenance Supervisor or Plant Manager.
