The Production Manufacturing Technician plays a vital role within the Operations support team, utilizing education, experience, and the Det-Tronics Operating System to ensure the efficient operation of production equipment. This position reports directly to the Production Manager and collaborates with Test Engineers, Manufacturing Engineers, and the Production Team.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Develop and implement enhanced TPM systems.
  • Provide first-line support for line-down situations.
  • Perform troubleshooting, rework, and repair of equipment and products as assigned.
  • Implement and maintain ESD mitigation and protection systems.
  • Analyze first pass yield data to identify trends, perform RRCA, and address equipment issues to maintain high quality and yield.
  • Initial troubleshooting of failures affecting equipment, fixtures, and processes within assigned production lines, ensuring proper resources are allocated.
  • Assist with the implementation and installation of new fixtures and equipment, including documentation and evaluation.
  • Participate in production improvement activities and proactively suggest enhancements.
  • Monitor production line progress and resolve issues promptly.
  • Set up and operate production equipment.
  • Contribute to the Det-Tronics Excellence Lean program.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Required Education and Experience:

  • Two-year technical degree or equivalent.
  • Two or more years’ experience as a technician or technician’s assistant in testing, calibration, repair of electronic assemblies, and maintenance of production equipment.
  • Ability to troubleshoot and repair electronic (PCB and interconnect), electro-mechanical, and light mechanical equipment.
  • Knowledge of ESD protection processes and practices.

Desired Skills and Experience:

  • Experience designing and building test fixtures.
  • Relevant programming experience or knowledge.
  • Experience supporting assembly lines and process improvements.
  • Strong problem-solving skills.
  • Good observational skills.
  • Positive attitude and willingness to work overtime when required.
  • Ability to provide training.
