Job summary

Technique, Inc. seeks a Production Manager to lead the Welding, Tube Laser, and Tube Bending departments at our Jackson, Michigan facilities.

Reporting to the Operations Manager, you will direct supervisors, leads, and operators, manage people and equipment, and drive workflow from cutting through bending to welding and downstream operations. The ideal candidate has 5+ years of supervisory experience in manufacturing, with hands-on welding and CNC tube processes, strong PLC and GD&T

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED (or higher) required/preferred.
• 5+ years of supervisory or management experience in manufacturing.
• Hands-on welding (MIG/TIG), CNC tube laser cutting, and/or CNC tube bending experience preferred.
• Familiarity with welding standards and welder qualification requirements (AWS D1.1, D17.1).
• Proven ability to build, train, evaluate, and lead multi-department teams across shifts.
• Experience setting and managing production metrics, schedules, and capacity plans.
• Strong understanding of PLC controls and GD&T for dimensional control.
• Ability to use E2 to find information for builds and process flow; knowledge of QMS processes.

Responsibilities

• Direct the Weld, Tube Laser, and Tube Bending departments across shifts.
• Plan capacity and scheduling to meet internal and external customer needs.
• Coordinate builds with Materials to confirm tube and material availability.
• Maintain flow between tube laser, bending, welding, and downstream processes.
• Develop department leaders; hire, coach, and evaluate supervisors and leads.
• Train employees and conduct regular performance reviews across departments.
• Track on-time delivery, scrap, rework, labor efficiency, and machine utilization.
• Ensure welders meet required procedures and certifications (AWS D1.1, D17.1).
• Oversee equipment and tooling, preventive maintenance, and repairs.
