Job summary

Metric DCX in Commerce City, CO, seeks a Production Manager to lead transformer and switchgear production operations. You will oversee the Shop Manager and Switchgear Supervisor to ensure safety, on-time scheduling, and quality standards.

This role drives continuous improvement, partners with engineering, sales, project management, purchasing, and field service, and manages inventory, costs, and key KPIs. Candidates should have 5+ years in electrical manufacturing and strong leadership.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of production leadership experience in transformer/switchgear or electrical equipment manufacturing.
• Experience managing supervisors and department leaders.
• Strong background in production planning, inventory control, quality, safety, and continuous improvement.
• Experience with electrical distribution equipment, transformers, or switchgear.
• Strong communication, leadership, coaching and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead daily production operations for transformer and switchgear departments.
• Develop production schedules, allocate resources, and manage labor capacity.
• Drive safety, OSHA compliance, environmental standards, and 5S initiatives.
• Coach, mentor, and develop supervisors and production teams.
• Oversee quality control, production documentation, SOPs, and corrective actions.
• Lead continuous improvement focused on workflow, productivity, capacity, and efficiency.
• Partner with engineering, sales, project management, purchasing, and field service teams.
• Manage inventory, vendors, materials, production costs, and KPIs.
