Job summary

Phxpkg is seeking a Production Supervisor for our Newport, TN 24/7 injection molding plant. You will direct and monitor daily production floor activities, oversee safety and quality programs, and coordinate with the Scheduling department to meet production goals.

The ideal candidate has 2-5 years of manufacturing management experience, knowledge of injection molding, and solid communication skills to lead a team effectively.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2-5 years of manufacturing management experience.
• Knowledge of injection molding processes preferred.
• Computer literate with good communication and interpersonal skills.

POSITION SUMMARY:

Direct, monitor, and coordinate all day-to-day production floor activities and functions of a captive injection molding plant operating 24 hours, 7 days/week.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

• Monitor and adhere to all company and governmental policies, laws, and regulations;
• Organizational development through employment, training, employee relations, and progressive discipline;
• Provide for employee safety and health with administration of all company and governmental safety standards and practices;
• Maintain quality standards through quality programs/procedures, GMP, and IMS standards, and food safety requirements, policies, and procedures;
• Assist in the hiring and training of production personnel;
• Coordinate the day-to-day production related operations;
• Adhere to annual and long term operational/labor objectives;
• Communicate plant maintenance issues to appropriate designates to aid in the efficient operations of the facility;
• Recommend/implement engineering changes to processes and standards;
• Coordinate with Scheduling department on production schedule;
• Monitor, track, & report all production of closures with the addition of scrap produced;
• Assist in customer complaint resolution, reduction, and prevention;
• Communicate all critical information and delegate appropriately to Production Supervisors.

OTHER RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Responsible for enforcing all Food Safety related policies and standards;
• Responsible for following and enforcing all Safety Rules, policies procedures and work instructions;
• Active participation in continuous improvement efforts for productivity, scrap, and quality ;
• Active participation in Safety program for the plant;
• Review direct reports annually on job performance;
• Other duties, as assigned by Plant Manager

Requirements

EDUCATION AND TRAINING:

• Bachelor's Degree preferred or equivalent experience;
• Prior manufacturing or supervisory experience;
• Computer literate and good communication and interpersonal skills.

EXPERIENCE:

• 2-5 years manufacturing management experience;
• Knowledge of injection molding processes;
• Knowledge of facility and equipment maintenance.
