Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Engineering, Manufacturing, Operations Management, or related field.
• 7–10 years of progressive manufacturing leadership experience preferred.
• Experience leading production operations in welding, fabrication, assembly, paint, or metal manufacturing environments.
• Experience managing supervisors, team leaders, and large production teams.
• Strong knowledge of manufacturing processes, production planning, scheduling, and workforce management.
• Experience implementing Lean Manufacturing and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Strong communication, leadership, and employee development skills.
• Proficiency with ERP/MRP systems and Microsoft Office.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Lead Scaffolding manufacturing operations including Assembly & Paint, Welding, and Fabrication.
• Ensure safety, quality, delivery, productivity, and cost objectives.
• Develop and execute production schedules to meet customer demand.
• Coach and develop Production Supervisors, Group Leaders, and team members.
• Promote safety culture and ensure policy/regulatory compliance.
• Monitor KPIs and implement corrective actions to improve performance.
• Coordinate with Supply Chain, Engineering, Quality, Maintenance, and HR.
• Drive Lean and continuous improvement to reduce waste and improve quality.
• Lead root cause analysis and problem-solving for production issues.
• Optimize labor, equipment, materials, and other resources.
• Assist with budgeting, workforce planning, and cost management.
• Support employee engagement, training, succession planning, and workforce development.

Position Summary

Bil-Jax is seeking an experienced and hands-on Production Manager - Scaffolding to lead our Assembly & Paint, Welding, and Fabrication operations at our Archbold, Ohio manufacturing facility.

This position is responsible for overseeing daily manufacturing operations to ensure the safe, efficient, and timely production of high-quality scaffolding products. The Production Manager will lead supervisors, group leaders, and production employees while driving continuous improvement initiatives focused on safety, quality, delivery, productivity, and cost performance.

The ideal candidate is a strong leader who can motivate teams, develop talent, improve processes, and foster a culture of accountability and operational excellence.

Essential Responsibilities

• Lead and oversee all Scaffolding manufacturing operations, including Assembly & Paint, Welding, and Fabrication.
• Ensure achievement of safety, quality, delivery, productivity, and cost objectives.
• Develop and execute production schedules to meet customer demand and business requirements.
• Lead, coach, and develop Production Supervisors, Group Leaders, and production team members.
• Promote and maintain a strong safety culture and ensure compliance with company policies and regulatory requirements.
• Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) and implement corrective actions to improve operational performance.
• Coordinate activities with Supply Chain, Engineering, Quality, Maintenance, and Human Resources.
• Drive Lean Manufacturing and continuous improvement initiatives to improve efficiency, reduce waste, and enhance product quality.
• Lead root cause analysis and problem-solving efforts to resolve production and quality issues.
• Optimize labor, equipment, materials, and other manufacturing resources.
• Assist with budgeting, workforce planning, and cost management activities.
• Support employee engagement, training, succession planning, and workforce development initiatives.
• Champion a culture of teamwork, accountability, and continuous improvement.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Manufacturing, Operations Management, Business Management, or equivalent experience preferred.
• Minimum of 7-10 years of progressive manufacturing leadership experience.
• Experience leading production operations in welding, fabrication, assembly, paint, or other metal manufacturing environments.
• Previous experience managing supervisors, team leaders, and large production teams.
• Strong knowledge of manufacturing processes, production planning, scheduling, and workforce management.
• Experience implementing Lean Manufacturing and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Strong communication, leadership, and employee development skills.
• Proven problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and ERP/MRP systems.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
