Job summary

Polyglass in Florida, Winter Haven, is seeking a Production Supervisor to oversee daily manufacturing operations, ensure quality standards, and maintain safety and efficiency across the line.

You will train production staff, coordinate with the MRP system, monitor KPI targets, manage inventory and PPE, and cover shift supervisors as needed while supporting continuous improvement initiatives.

Qualifications

  • Requires proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint.
  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • Two years of industry experience or any equivalent combination of related training and experience.
  • Requires a valid driver’s license and a good driving record.

Responsibilities

  • Promotes the quality system through adhering to the elements of and being familiar with the philosophy, quality statement, quality manual, and production procedures.
  • Promotes health, safety and environmental regulations by ensuring that standards, policies, and procedures are adhered to in compliance with corporate, federal, state, and local requirements.
  • Works with MRP closely to develop the weekly/monthly production schedule.
  • Directly responsible for training of production employees to ensure optimum production efficiencies (KPI’s).
  • Ensures the plant is running efficiently while quality of products produced meets or exceeds company standards.
  • Must be available via phone for 24/7 plant support.
  • Responsible for inventory counts of in-process raw materials.
  • Generates requisitions for production supplies.
  • Verifies production data and inputs into the computer system accurately and in a timely manner.
  • Provides information at the daily production meetings regarding the current line status (including issues, causes, and preventative techniques used to prevent further issues).
  • Responsible for ordering/inventory of PPE needed for employees.
  • Manpower utilization of production crews.
  • Covers Shift Supervisors during vacation when needed.
  • Performs other duties as required.

Qualifications:

Required:

Preferred:
  • Bachelor’sdegree in related field preferred.
  • Previous supervisory experience in a production environment preferred.
Work Environment:
  • The Production Supervisor will belocatedatone of the Polyglass plant locations.
  • Work environment varies from an office setting to periodic exposure to the typical elements in the manufacturing facilities (i.e. dust, moderate noise, close proximity to semi-automated manufacturing equipment, and hot and cold climates.)
  • Must be able to work around hot asphalt tanks, linesand pumps on an intermittent basis.
  • Physical Requirements:
  • Standing 8 – 12 hours a day.
  • Lifting up 60 lbs alone and upto 120 lbsassisted.
  • Ability to climb stairs often and ladders periodically.
  • Ability to work shift work.
  • Visual Acuity (including color perception).
  • Good Hearing.
  • All hires will be subject to a pre-employment physical
